The intern will work closely with engineers and researchers on electricity system planning, market design, and cross - border power system studies, with hands - on exposure to open - source power system modelling tools.
This internship is designed to provide practical experience at the intersection of power systems, energy transition, and electricity markets, suitable for an early - stage undergraduate with strong technical curiosity and analytical skills.
How You'll Make an Impact
* Support electricity system modelling and scenario analysis using Python - based tools (e.g. PyPSA or similar frameworks).
* Assist in developing and running future energy system scenarios, including load growth, generation mixes, interconnections, and policy - driven constraints.
* Conduct background research on electricity market structures, price formation mechanisms, and regulatory frameworks, with a focus on Singapore and the ASEAN region.
* Contribute to extending existing power system models to include cross - border interconnections.
* Analyze and interpret modelling results, including system costs, dispatch outcomes, and price signals.
* Document assumptions, methodologies, and findings clearly for internal use and presentations.
Learning Objectives By the end of the internship, the student is expected to have:
* Gained hands - on experience with power system modelling and scenario analysis.
