Want a front-row seat to how a global business tells its story? Join our ABB Electrification Global Communications team and help shape how we show up-on social, in the media, at events, and everywhere in between. You'll work on real projects, learn from Communications pros, and leave with portfolio-ready work you can be proud of.
The work model for the role is: Hybrid #LI-hybrid. We encourage on-site presence so you can benefit from the expertise and networking opportunities which is best achieved in person.
Your role and responsibilities
* Jump in on day-to-day Communications across public relations, social, internal channels, and events - helping strategic communications go from ideation to activation.
* Create and polish engaging content that turns technical topics into captivating stories that grab attention (captions, short updates, stories, blog/news posts, talking points) - and learn how to match tone to audience. Spot angles, develop visual concepts, and tell better, more human-centric stories.
* Support a coordinated view of executive events across Electrification to provide clear visibility and help ensure ABB Electrification shows up consistently, credibly, and in line with top Communications priorities
* Own a few unique research projects eg. on how AI can be optimised in the communications sphere, that will help ensure a 'future-ready' Communications organization
* Track trends, keep an eye on media + social conversations, and share snackable insights the team can use fast.
* Use tech and AI tools to work smarter while keeping it accurate, on-brand, and human.
* Work with Communications teammates and business stakeholders, bring fresh ideas, and ask for feedback early and often - we're here to help you level up.
Qualifications for the role
Education and Experience:
You're currently studying for a Bachelor's or Master's (Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Business, International Relations or similar). If you've done an internship, student org, side project, or run social for a club, awesome. If not, that's okay too -bring curiosity, good energy, and a willingness to learn.
Must-have Skills:
You're an organized self-starter with strong follow-through - deadlines don't scare you, and details don't slip. You're a strong writer and communicator.
Nice-to-have Skills:
You've played with tools like Canva/Adobe Express, you're curious about what the numbers are saying (basic analytics), and you're interested in using AI tools responsibly for Communications.
What's in it for you?
You'll see how strategic Communications works inside a global business, build a portfolio with real examples, and pick up skills you can take anywhere (storytelling, insights, and AI-enabled comms). Expect coaching, real feedback, and ownership of work and projects - not just "shadowing."
Building a cleaner, smarter future takes all kinds of minds: the curious, the courageous, and the creative. That's why we welcome people from all backgrounds and experiences.
