Purpose of the position: As Laboratory Technician - Trainee, take samples of crude oil, natural gas, glycol, produced water, injection water, heating media, cooling media, and other process fluids as required and analysis oil, chemicals, water and other substances as necessary for the safe and efficient management of the plant and reporting. Ensure all laboratory instruments and equipment are correctly calibrated and maintained as per manufacturer instructions and company standards. Handle, store, and dispose of chemicals in a safe and compliant manner, in line with COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations and company HSE policies. Record, interpret, and report test results accurately in daily and weekly analytical reports. Ensure all activities comply with company HSE policies, quality standards, and Permit to Work requirements.
How can you support us? Here are below your responsibilities:
* Take samples of crude oil, gas, glycol and carrying out analysis of produced water, injection water, heating media, cooling media and perform gas chromatography. Other fluid analysis might be carried out as well, following company procedures.
* Ensure correct and safe transportation for hydrocarbon samples.
* Ensuring all equipment used for analysis is correctly calibrated.
* Provide Log taking, report writing as required, maintaining laboratory equipment stocks at required levels
* Report any problems to Production Supervisor
* Be aware of COSHH regulations.
* Ensure compliance with SAIPEM procedures, applied to the function, including Saipem Permit to Work System
What are we looking for?
Education: Diploma or degree in Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
Experience: minimum experiences in laboratory setting.
Languages: Portuguese and Professional English.
Technical Skills: Equipment calibration, sterile (aseptic) techniques, meticulous documentation, data analysis, and strict adherence to safety and quality control protocols.
IT Skills: Microsoft tools
What else should you know? All applicants must reside in Angola and possess a valid residence card, as Saipem is unable to offer sponsorships.
