Job Description:

Global Operational Excellence PMO - The Maersk Way Deployment - Copenhagen, Denmark

Turn strategy into execution. Embed the way we work.

At Maersk, we are transforming into the global integrator of logistics. At the heart of this journey is The Maersk Way (TMW) - our global operating model designed to drive consistency, performance, and continuous improvement across our business.

To bring TMW to life at scale, we need structured, disciplined deployment. We're looking for a Global Operational Excellence PMO to play a critical role in turning ambition into action, ensuring TMW is not only rolled out, but truly adopted, embedded, and sustained across the organisation.

This role sits at the centre of our transformation, combining programme management, capability building, and on-the-ground engagement to drive meaningful, measurable impact.

The Role

You will lead and support the structured global deployment of The Maersk Way, translating strategy into clear, executable plans and ensuring consistent rollout across regions, functions, and teams.

This is not a purely central PMO role. It requires presence at gemba, working directly with teams to drive behaviours, routines, and performance outcomes.

You will combine disciplined programme management with hands-on facilitation, ensuring that tools, practices, and mindsets are adopted in real operational environments.

Key responsibilities include:
* Own and drive the structured rollout of The Maersk Way across the organisation
* Develop and execute multi-year deployment plans with clear milestones, timelines, and tracking mechanisms
* Champion implementation of key TMW elements, including Action Plans and performance routines
* Deliver training and capability-building sessions on TMW tools, behaviours, and performance management
* Facilitate continuous improvement activities, including:
* Kaizen workshops
* Structured problem-solving sessions
* Work directly with leaders and teams to translate TMW into local and functional execution plans
* Track adoption, progress, and risks - ensuring visibility, governance, and structured escalation
* Continuously refine deployment approaches based on feedback, performance, and organisational readiness

What You'll Be Accountable For

* Effective and timely deployment of The Maersk Way in line with global standards and rollout plans
* Clear, high-quality tracking, reporting, and governance of deployment progress
* Sustainable adoption of TMW practices across teams and functions
* Visibility of risks, gaps, and opportunities, with proactive mitigation and escalation
* Tangible impact on operational performance and continuous improvement outcomes

What We're Looking For

* Strong experience in Operational Excellence, Lean, or Continuous Improvement environments
* Proven programme or project management capability, particularly in large-scale transformation or rollout initiatives
* Hands-on experience delivering training and facilitating workshops with diverse audiences
* Solid expertise in structured problem solving (e.g., A3, root cause analysis)
* Experience designing and facilitating Kaizen events in both operational and transactional environments
* Data-driven mindset, able to link performance metrics to improvement actions
* Confident communicator with strong facilitation and storytelling skills
* High level of ownership, discipline, and execution focus
* Ability to operate effectively in a global, matrixed organisation
* 5 days a week onsite in the office, with willingness to spend significant time at gemba, with frequent global travel required

Why Maersk?

This is a unique opportunity to play a hands-on role in one of the most ambitious transformations in global logistics.

You won't just manage a programme - you'll help embed a new way of working across our business. From frontline operations to leadership routines, your work will directly influence how we execute, improve, and perform every day.

If you thrive in environments where structure meets action, and where impact is measured in real operational change - we'd love to hear from you.
