Business Environment

Reservation is the beating heart of many (COMPANY NAME) products: it handles critical steps of a trip reservation, including booking, ticketing, PNR management, etc.
Our organization (TEC-RES) drives these reservation functions for different travel content types, such as air, land and sea. We are accountable for our unique reservation platform, used both by Airlines and Distribution actors.

With the travel industry rapidly changing, RES organization is involved in key on-going and new projects at the crossroad of all the business units (e.g. New Distribution Capability, Merchandising, etc). We are also working on technical challenges, on our platform's modernization to build new modern APIs, universal to all travel content provider.

Purpose

Within Travel Record Management (TRM) department, the ROC (Retrieve, Orchestration & Context) team is responsible for orchestrating all incoming requests updating a PNR, for managing the context for those requests until it is commited in database, and for retrieving the PNR.

You will lead the team having the end-to-end accountability of its components and its deliveries, gathering all competencies and all job types: software development engineer, product definition analyst, quality assurance engineer and DevOps.

Among other projects, the Team is working Smart PNR (functionality allowing Travel agents to book and mix any type of content - Edifact, NDC, EAC, Non air...- in a unique PNR view while keeping each type of content in an isolated PNR storage in order not to disrupt providers view and processes with other type of content), migrating our components to the Cloud.
Other than the delivery aspect, providing a better job experience to the team members and managing their growth is a key focus for the position.

You will work closely with our business counterparts and interact with other (COMPANY NAME) divisions.
Within our Agile way of working, you will have to manage resources in different (COMPANY NAME) Release Trains.

Your Main Responsibilities

Common accountabilities :

Management and Engagement
* Manage software development engineers, product definition analysts, quality assurance engineers and DevOps in the delivery of all committed projects on-time, on-scope, and adherence to corporate standards and quality
* Define team objectives and translate them into individual objectives for each team member in line with organizational goals
* Evaluate team and individual performance Provide input for salary reviews
* Develop the team based on continuous assessment
* Motivate and guide individual team members to stretch and expand their own capabilities (know-how, behavior, communication etc...)
* Build/manage a team fostering a collaborative work environment which promotes innovation and empowerment
* Perform the interviews to recruit the relevant profiles Ensure maintaining the team spirit

Accountability / Business acumen
* Define and share the technical/functional team roadmap and vision according to the department/division/company objectives
* Propose functional and technical vision of the component
* Report on team activities
* Be accountable for the performance and results of a unit within own discipline or function
* Develop plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges
* Suggest alternatives / improvements / new techniques in processes, flows, operational models and plans
* Moderate budgetary impact on business
* Timely manage the investigation and resolution of production support issues and customer inquiries

Collaboration
* Collaborate with other teams and different profiles (architect, solution definition manager, QA manager) to ensure that software systems are designed for testability, stability, scalability, and performance
* Ensure Agility practices are followed

Communication
* Ensure timely and appropriate communication to team members regarding company/organization information
* Ensure timely and appropriate communication outside the team as well

Experience
* Several years of work experience and familiarity with (COMPANY NAME) products or the distribution industry is a plus.
