Job Description:

As a Software Engineer in the Wireless Technologies & Ecosystems team, you will build scalable platforms and AI/ML-powered, LLM-driven tools that enable wireless innovation across Apple. You'll work on production systems at scale, collaborate with global teams, and turn complex engineering challenges into simple, reliable solutions with real-world impact.
As a full-time Software Engineer, you will own the end-to-end development of services and platforms-from design and implementation to deployment, monitoring, and long-term maintenance. You will be a key contributor to systems that improve productivity, automation, and decision-making for wireless engineering teams worldwide. You will work closely with cross-functional partners to: - Design, implement, and operate reliable backend services and platforms - Build and integrate LLM-powered tools to improve engineering workflows and efficiency - Enhance existing systems with a strong focus on performance, scalability, and software quality - Define and track metrics to improve reliability, maintainability, and user impact - Participate in architecture and design reviews, influencing long-term technical direction This is a hands-on role in an innovation-driven environment that values ownership, collaboration, and technical excellence.
Strong programming skills in Python; experience with JavaScript, Java, Go, or Swift Strong experience designing, building, and operating highly scalable, distributed systems in production Practical experience applying AI/ML techniques; hands-on work with LLMs in production or tooling workflows is highly desirable Strong problem-solving skills, ownership mindset, and ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical partners
Proficiency in REST API design, implementation, and service ownership Proven experience developing web services and microservice-based architectures Solid understanding of backend and full-stack development principles Hands-on experience with relational and non-relational data stores (e.g., Postgres, Cassandra, Elastic, object storage) Experience deploying and operating services on Kubernetes or similar platforms Familiarity with large-scale data and analytics platforms (e.g., Hadoop, Impala) Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with teams across multiple locations Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
