Your Role:
You will lead a global Data Center Operations team of 10 professionals across multiple locations, ensuring reliable 24/7 operational support for 8 data centers worldwide. Based on-site at our Darmstadt campus, you will drive operational excellence across both in-house and colocation facilities. You are accountable for team performance and development, setting clear priorities, coaching direct reports, and creating psychological safety so risks surface early and continuous improvement thrives. You will own incident and escalation leadership, ensuring timely response and prevention of recurrence. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will remove operational blockers and support readiness for complex infrastructure changes. You will ensure adherence to procedures and compliance requirements while maintaining optimal resource levels to meet SLA commitments, providing stakeholders with transparent insights into trends, risks, and improvement plans.
Who You Are:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience in IT technology operations
* Proven people management experience leading direct reports in an operations or technology environment, with demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and performance-manage distributed teams
* Experience managing in-house or outsourced IT or Data Center operations services, including vendor management and service delivery oversight
* Ability to lead incident response under pressure, coordinate cross-functional resolution, and communicate clearly with stakeholders at all levels
* Build trust through transparency, consistency, and fair, frequent feedback-using a guidance culture where Specific and Sincere Praise and timely course-correction are part of the leadership responsibility
* Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation supporting 24/7 global operations, including off-hours incident response
* Ability to work on-site daily at the Darmstadt campus
* Experience with DCIM tool (Cormant) and/or ADDM is a plus
