We are a global team of engineers who operate the diverse technology, protocol and vendor stack that interconnects all facets of Apple's network at a scale that is second to none. We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate person to join a dynamic and exciting team within Apple's Global Network Services. You will be skilled in cross-organizational collaboration, liaising with internal teams and external service providers to operate and maintain the network infrastructure. You will need to develop and maintain clear documentation and procedures associated with operations and known issues. This position provides the opportunity to operate a cutting-edge, worldwide, multi-vendor network.
In this fast paced role, you will provide front line support for Apple's Data Center network to address a wide variety of business challenges. You will be comfortable in a dynamic environment with the ability to multi-task and provide operational support to various businesses within Apple. This position requires a collaborative teammate who will enjoy working with others around the globe. Your responsibilities will include working on tickets and break fixes, maintaining and upgrading existing networks to current standards, and sustaining operations, as well as contributing to technical and procedural documentation. In this role you will obsess over minute details and drive operational excellence in every aspect of your work to deliver the best possible customer experience. In addition to the required technical networking skills, this position will also draw on strong interpersonal skills and an individual who enjoys the dynamic nature of Apple's environment. Additional Requirements: Flexibility to work in a day-time or afternoon shift pattern
2-4 years of experience in network troubleshooting Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal communication and customer service skills Understanding of BGP and OSPF routing, L2 switching technologies and ACL management Experience evaluating and managing outages to business critical infrastructure
Experience with Cisco, Arista, Juniper or other vendors Strong understanding of IPv4 and IPv6 Ability to coordinate and troubleshoot with internal and external partner teams Ability to maintain composure and customer-service focus in stressful and ambiguous situations Proficiency with Linux or other versions of UNIX Knowledge of configuration management and automation technologies such as Ansible, Salt, Chef and Python, Go, etc Experience working in large scale environments and with ITIL incident and problem management B.Sc. degree or equivalent experience Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Juniper JNCIA/JNCIP, or equivalent experience
