THE TEAM
The Tommy Jeans Men's Design team is responsible for delivering consumer-relevant, commercial product aligned with the brand's heritage DNA and strategic priorities such as Win With Product. The team operates in a fast-paced, collaborative environment across multiple product categories.
THE POSITION
The Men's Design Assistant is an entry-level, support-focused role within the Tommy Jeans Men's Design team. The position is designed to reduce the operational and administrative workload of Designers, allowing them to focus on innovation, product development, research, and strategic objectives.
The role supports multiple product categories (e.g. Wovens, Knits, Outerwear, Shirts, Non-Denim Bottoms) and does not include ownership of an independent product category or independent design responsibility. The position reports into the Design Director and works closely with Designers across the team, with one assigned Designer acting as day-to-day mentor.
The team is committed to training and development and will provide guidance across all responsibilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Design & Operational Support
* Support the men's design team with daily operational and administrative tasks.
* Prepare, update, and maintain detailed tech packs in Adobe Illustrator.
* Upload and maintain tech packs and product information in PLM throughout all seasonal milestones.
* Upload sketches, tech packs, and supporting materials to Digital Foamboard / Miro.
* Organize and maintain digital and physical design documentation and archives.
* Research, organize, and archive inspiration materials, samples, and past seasonal collections (digital and physical).
* Provide coverage support during holidays or short-term absences within the team.

Research & Creative Support
* Conduct market, trend, and competitor research aligned with Tommy Jeans Men's brand DNA and seasonal concepts.
* Support sketching and technical drawings under Designer guidance.
* Assist in updating designs based on feedback from reviews and fittings.

Cross-Functional & Milestone Support
* Assist in preparation for key seasonal meetings and milestones, including:
* Rig Room preparation (samples, boards, color cards, operational support).
* Proto Reviews (preparing styles, updating tech packs, boards).
* Collection Framework and Sign-Offs (organizing samples, updating boards, uploading information, setting up tables/rails).
* Prepare presentation and communication materials for internal and cross-functional meetings.
Product Development & Fittings
* Support workflow management across overlapping seasons and product lines, assisting woven and/or knit teams as needed.
* Assist during fittings and manage administrative follow-up.
* Support the Design Director during style-outs, including organizing garments, dressing models, and photoshopping final looks.
Workflow & Process
* Ensure all files, samples, and materials are accurate and ready for internal and external handovers.
* Support smooth progression of product through all design and development milestones.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
* Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or equivalent design diploma.
* 0-1 years of relevant experience in fashion apparel design; menswear focus is a strong advantage.
* Strong understanding of the Tommy Jeans brand, heritage, and DNA.
* Understanding of the youth consumer and contemporary menswear market.
* Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
* Hands-on, proactive, and eager to learn.
* Ability to work to short deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Proficient in Adobe Illustrator (technical sketching) and Photoshop
* PLM experience preferred
* Strong command of English, both written and verbal.
* An up-to-date portfolio is required.
