Role Overview
Global Clinical Solutions (GCS) drives the delivery of services and technology for AstraZeneca for its internal and external stakeholders.
UAT Lead, Manager, GCS supports teams to improve process effectiveness and performance in operational processes/procedures within the department, as well as providing support and guidance in the development of processes owned by Global Clinical Solutions.
Individuals with this job will coordinates/lead and deliver execution of User Acceptance Testing for Veeva Clinical Vault (VCV) system, ensuring solutions meet business and regulatory needs prior to release. They will translate requirements into test scenarios, orchestrate cross-functional test cycles, manage defects to closure, and communicate outcomes to governance bodies. UAT Lead will partner closely with product owners, business process owners, IT, third-party vendors, and end users to secure fit-for-purpose, compliant releases.
Typical Accountabilities
As the member of a specific activity team the Manager, GCS (UAT Lead):
* Responsible for coordinating and supporting the UAT process within sprints, including preparing test environments, creating and validating test scripts in Jira, supporting testers, and managing defects. It also involves close collaboration with Product Owners and IT, delivering training, attending functional meetings, and performing testing when needed
* Coordinates and delivers GCS services and coordinates life cycle management and business continuity for projects services and technology. Provides expert support to user communities including
I. conducting relevant process/system/tool trainings
II. establishing of best practice
III. ensuring communication with relevant stakeholders across GCS and AZ
* Leads or manages business improvement projects according to lean principles, including planning, prioritizing, implementing and tracking delivery
* Supports the implementation of changes to improve the way various functions and teams perform
* Evaluates and monitors the performance and efficiency of programs to ensure that program implementation is on target
* Responsible for training colleagues to use continuous improvement in the new ways of working and embed change culture
* Grows capabilities, applies new approaches to improve work; and has positive impact on team performance creating learning opportunity for others
* Responsible for knowledge management of continuous improvement activities and ensuring that the knowledge is used in the selection and execution of future activities
Essential Requirements
* University degree in related discipline, preferably in biological science or healthcare-related fields, such as medicine, nursing, or equivalent experience
* Ability to work collaboratively; proven organizational and analytical skills, and proven skills to deliver to time, cost and quality
* Good project management skills
* Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English
* Knowledge of the VCV system, including configuration, workflow, data integrity controls, user roles/permissions, and integration touchpoints with adjacent clinical systems; able to translate business requirements into testable scenarios within VCV and guide end users through UAT and release readiness.
* Strong business communication, stakeholder management and presentation skills
* Well-developed organisational and interpersonal skills
* Ensures risks and issues management to ensure effective delivery. Expertly utilises escalation routes and governance to gain traction and deliver rapid solutions
* Shares lessons learned and best practice recommendations with relevant stakeholders to drive continuous improvement
* Builds relationships and achieve results without line management input
* Curious and self-motivated
Desirable Requirements
* Expert in their relevant service
* Experience in Jira/Confluence
* Experience of utilizing standard process improvement methodologies (e.g. Lean Six Sigma) to identify root causes of process issues and identify areas of process improvement
* Some experience of Quality Systems and Quality Management, including process definition and process improvement, ideally within an Information Systems environment
* Experience in multiple fields of clinical development
* At least 2 year experience in Drug Development within a pharmaceutical or clinical background
* Understanding ICH GCP guidelines in relation to study delivery
* Experience of working in a global organisation with complex/geographical context
