Job Description:
Change world of tomorrow with us.
Our Siemens business unit Motion Control (DI MC) is one of the world's leading providers of products, systems, solutions, and services in the field of Motion Control. This includes around 20,000 employees and the four business segments. With its global production sites, R&D, and service locations, MC is close to its customers and at home in a wide range of industries. At our factory network Siemens AG develops and manufactures electric motors for the global market. Our target customers are in the field of automation technology, in the automotive industry and in the field of intra-logistics.
We are planning to expand our Oradea plant into an even larger, modern, and more powerful Siemens Mechatronic Competence Center! This isn't just an expansion; it is a true transformation. As part of this strategic business development, we will be building a brand-new, state-of-the-art manufacturing area in Oradea. This new space will integrate critical parts of our production and associated support functions, creating a unified, high-performance hub for mechatronic expertise within Siemens.
Oradea will become one of Siemens' key competence centers, with new colleagues joining us, new technologies being implemented, and new capabilities strengthening our overall footprint.
Based in Oradea, we are looking for a Metrology Specialist to join our Quality Management team.
This will be your impact:
* Introduce, implement, and optimize complex measurement technologies, including advanced procedures, equipment, and software, while training and qualifying end users.
* Develop, program, and maintain measurement programs for optical-tactile measuring machines used for engines and engine components, ensuring full compliance with applicable standards, quality requirements, and testing protocols (series, sample, and special inspections).
* Perform precision measurements on critical components, generate detailed measurement reports, and manage inspection lots in SAP, including issuing quality notifications and communicating with international suppliers.
* Conduct incoming and complaint-related inspections for purchased parts, components, and final products, document results according to specifications, and initiate or follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
* Support R&D and Manufacturing Engineering by contributing to quality-driven product design and advising on component designs that meet measurement feasibility and precision requirements.
* Coordinate measurement strategies and methods within the plant network and in collaboration with external suppliers to ensure alignment, standardization, and best practices.
* Manage the maintenance, calibration, and lifecycle of measurement instruments, including updates, backups, procurement of new devices, and user support within the measurement room.
* Plan, organize, and lead project meetings and status reviews, both domestically and internationally.
This is how you'll win us over:
* Degree in engineering or a technical Master's program (e.g., mechanical engineering or similar).
* Relevant experience in tactile and optical metrology and solid knowledge of quality management, ideally in the electric motor field.
* Metrology certifications (i.e. AUKOM 1/2/F&L) and strong GPS standards expertise; proficient in programming Zeiss and OGP systems and experienced in microscopy.
* Strong technical understanding of drawings, DIN standards, and improvement potential in quality, cost, and logistics.
* Proactive, eager to learn, and open to new technologies and systems.
* Very good English skills, Romanian proficiency and strong intercultural communication abilities.
* Confident user of SAP/SAP QM, MS Office, and Teamcenter.
* Quick to grasp complex topics and able to communicate findings clearly to diverse audiences.
