Job Purpose and Impact

The Food Safety and Quality Technician, will be accountable for food safety and quality inspection process within a specified range. In this role, you will conduct tests and inspections following internal and external procedures in quality and food safety.

Key Accountabilities

* Conduct routine inspections following the compliance program.
* Identify and analyse deviations to avoid potential risk to the businesses, report the serious one to higher level staff for guidance.
* Interpret and document results of tests into active databases and communicate results to internal customers as required.
* Run calibration checks, preventive maintenance tasks and simple repair to analytical instrumentation and maintain customer specifications books.
* Follow company Quality & Food Safety and Environment and Health policies and procedures, identify instances of risky behaviours in the workplace and take appropriate action and escalate serious issues as appropriate.
* Attend audits, prepare required documents and ensure all documentation is completed, current and verified to support production management decisions.
* Handle basic clerical, administrative, technical or customer support issues under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
* Organize and maintain the sampling room in proper condition
* Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

* High school diploma, secondary education level or equivalent
* Good oral and written communication skills.
* Other minimum qualifications may apply

Preferred Qualifications

* Laboratory Technician or similar.
* Ability to read and interpret documents (safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
* Strong computer program professional knowledge: Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook.
* Experienced in manufacturing as Line Inspectors or equivalent experience.
* In-depth knowledge of sanitation and manufacturing practices in the assessment of plant hygiene program.
