As a EU CO Night Shift Area Manager, you will lead a team of Managers and Logistics Associates to drive performance on day to day operations and projects for EU CO. Your role will be to focus on key KPIs in terms of forecast accuracy and process adherance/improvement playing a key role in deliverables to both our Delivery Station and Delivery Service Partner Management team.

You will be be accountable for daily, weekly and monthly KPIs and metrics. You will be responsible for driving program scoping, roll out and compliance/monitoring and stakeholder experience. In addition, you will be instrumental in developing best practices and standard work for the network.

You will play a proactive role in written and verbal communication with various departments, as you maintain Amazon's exceptionally high levels of service, both for our customers and suppliers, facilitating the flow of information between different stakeholders and resolving any potential issues that impact business continuity. We need you to step back at strategic intervals to take in the bigger picture and to be comfortable conducting research into process improvement initiatives and taking real-time decisions. You will also maintain and report up to date and accurate statistics, management reports and analysis.

Key job responsibilities
Managing daily operations of the team, ensuring all the required tasks are executed on time, adhering to the standard practices.
Monitor and report on daily and weekly performances. Deep dive on trends, identify the gaps in performance metrics and take corrective actions.
Execute best practices that improve customer, cost, and delivery partner outcomes· Develop processes and systems to achieve metrics, often requiring scrappy solutions to temporarily overcome technical limitations. The ability to scale will be critical to all processes.
Create and drive scalable standard work that enables remote support of a complex business area.
Proactively identify and lead process improvement initiatives though quantitative analysis and data-driven decision making.
Create, manage, support recognition and communication programs for scheduling team.

A day in the life
As Area Managers, you will lead the Night Shift team in Central Operations, overseeing Sorting and Flow Management tasks. You will ensure that teams of Shift Managers and Schedulers deploy the latest forecast updates, container plan optimization, and risk mitigations for the entire EU network on a daily basis. You must guarantee execution excellence, accurate reporting, and continuous process improvements in operations.

About the team

Central Operations (CO) refers to a new approach within Amazon Logistics (AMZL) to define a scalable solution to run the increasingly complex and growing last mile delivery network. CO is a key strategic initiative with a vision to transform the way AMZL executes forecasting, route planning, demand scheduling and last mile delivery. We are looking for a Operations Manager with a track record of operational excellence to drive scalability, ensuring strong processes and culture are developed. This person will be able to lead a team that operates in areas of the business with a high degree of ambiguity that require a great deal of thought leadership. The role will provide opportunities to think big, develop original ideas, and partner with AMZL Planning, Transportation, Last Mile Tech, Operations and business expansion teams to develop a strategic approach to scale Central Operations

Candidate Requirements:

- A degree
- Relevant experience in people management
- Relevant experience of communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including your peers and leadership
- Relevant experience in using data or anecdotal evidence to influence business decisions
- Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and local language
- Experience working with Lean, Six Sigma and Kaizen techniques
- Experience working in another logistics environment
- Relevant experience working with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional environment
