Logistics & Warehouse Engineering Excellence Lead m/f/d

As the Logistics & Warehouse Engineering Excellence Lead, you will drive the strategic development, implementation, and optimization of digital and automation solutions globally across the logistics and warehousing operations of CH Product Supply. Your role aims to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels through innovative engineering practices, with a strong emphasis on engineering design elements, lean principles, quality management, sustainability, and advanced technologies. You will lead cross-functional teams in the design, deployment, and continuous improvement of warehouse automated systems and processes, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and industry best practices, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Develop and implement a comprehensive global program strategy for warehouse automation, emphasizing efficiency, sustainability, and advanced engineering technologies;

* Lead the planning, deployment, and monitoring of standard lean warehouse layout designs within CH PS, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timelines;

* Collaborate with engineering teams to define standards and oversee the engineering design of warehouse layouts and workflows, ensuring optimal space utilization and integration of automation technologies;

* Lead the planning, deployment, and monitoring of strategic programs within CH PS, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timelines;

* Collaborate with regional and global stakeholders, including supply chain operations, Pharma division, quality assurance, engineering, sustainability, and operational excellence to ensure alignment on automation initiatives and best practices;

* Evaluate and select global vendors for automation equipment and technologies, ensuring solutions meet operational needs and comply with industry standards;

* Develop and implement global training programs for staff on new automation technologies, engineering design principles, lean methodologies, and sustainability and quality practices;

* Foster a culture of innovation by exploring and recommending emerging technologies that can enhance global logistics and warehouse operations through digital and automation.

WHO YOU ARE

* Strong understanding and proven experience in logistics and warehousing analytics and design, as well as warehouse automation principles, system design, and process optimization.

* Experience in designing and implementing warehouse automation, including ASRS, Pallet Shuttle, AMR, AGV, Robotics Palletizers, Case Sortation, Case Shuttles, Autostore, and Auto Truck Loading;

* Proven ability to form cross-functional teams while effectively engaging and communicating with diverse stakeholders;

* Ability to think critically and strategically about PS program goals and a strong understanding of program interdependencies across the supply chain;

* Strong proficiency in analyzing complex data sets pertaining to supply chain to derive insights on impact to strategic programs and projects performance;

* Strong understanding of financial principles of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, particularly regarding business case development in PS function;

* Expert understanding of lean methodologies, including value stream mapping, lean waste reduction, continuous improvement (Kaizen), Just-In-Time (JIT), standard work, 5S methodology, pull systems, etc.;

* Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools to effectively lead and manage multiple strategic initiatives;

* Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a dynamic and demanding environment;

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex information clearly and engage stakeholders at all levels.

The preferred location for this role is Basel, but we might be able to consider other locations.
