Job Description:

Location: Europe - Turkey, Georgia, CIS or the Balkans

Whether you're building depth in your career or ready to broaden your impact across a global portfolio, you'll find support, purpose and the opportunity to grow at IHG Hotels & Resorts. At every stage, there's Room for You.
IHG Hotels & Resorts is experiencing a period of strong development activity across Turkey, Georgia, CIS and the Balkans, with a diverse pipeline of new hotel developments, conversions and refurbishments across multiple brands.
To support this busy and exciting period, we are seeking a Manager, Design - Europe (Development Architect) to join our regional Design & Engineering team. This role supports the delivery of hotel projects by ensuring consistent application of brand standards and high-quality design solutions that balance brand integrity, guest experience and commercial expectations.
This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role, well suited to an architectural or design professional who enjoys working across multiple projects, collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders and contributing to tangible outcomes in fast-moving markets.
This role is a 6-9-month fixed term contract, full-time and will involve work and travel across the region.
What you'll do
In this role, you'll support hotel development projects across the region by managing assigned design and technical activities, maintaining strong stakeholder relationships and ensuring consistent application of IHG Brand Standards throughout the development lifecycle.
You will work within established processes and guidelines, resolving routine issues independently and escalating complex or non-standard matters to senior colleagues where appropriate.
Key responsibilities
* Review hotel development projects for compliance with IHG Brand Standards and design guidelines, supporting high-quality design outcomes that balance brand, guest experience and commercial objectives.
* Support brand execution across new builds, conversions and refurbishments, including the development of Property Improvement Plans (PIPs), document reviews, and on-site evaluations.
* Conduct property visits to assess compliance and quality of brand execution.
* Prepare reports and research to support project documentation, governance and decision making.
* Maintain accurate and timely reporting on project progress, risks, and compliance with agreed timeframes.
* Manage schedules and coordinate with internal and external teams to meet agreed timelines.
* Monitor project interdependencies and foster effective collaboration across stakeholders.
* Manage assigned scope and changes, applying sound judgement and escalating complex issues where needed.
* Facilitate peer and subject matter expert input to support informed design and technical outcomes.
* Proactively identify and support opportunities for process improvements that enhance quality, efficiency and stakeholder experience.
* Support sustainability initiatives aligned with IHG's Journey to Tomorrow agenda.

Why this role matters
You'll contribute directly to the quality, consistency, and success of IHG's growing European hotel portfolio. Through your work, you'll help protect brand integrity, enhance guest experience, and strengthen owner confidence, while building your capability across increasingly complex projects.
You will gain broad exposure to different brands, development models and market conditions, while continuing to build technical capability, judgement and confidence through hands-on project experience and collaboration with experienced colleagues.

What we're looking for
* Bachelor's degree or diploma in Architecture, Construction, Project Management or related discipline.
* Fluent in English with fluency in Russian or Turkish would be highly desirable
* Strong knowledge of architectural design, construction principles, and relevant regulations.
* Experience supporting hotel development or complex construction projects, ideally within a branded hospitality environment.
* Project management capability and proficiency in common construction design and management tools (e.g. AutoCAD)
* Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
* Cultural awareness and confidence working within cross functional, international teams.
* Progress toward a relevant professional qualification is preferred.
* Willingness to travel extensively across the region.

What we offer
We provide a wide range of benefits designed to help you live your best work life, including:
* Global hotel discounts and food & beverage benefits
* Recharge Days
* Volunteering Days
* Exposure to diverse hotel projects across Europe within a global organisation
