The role
As a Royal Engineer Equipment, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. This is a hands-on, high impact role suited to someone who takes pride in quality, safety, and operational readiness. Your work will directly support inspections, certification, and military readiness, ensuring equipment performs reliably in demanding environments.
Day to day you'll be required to:
* You will maintain, inspect, and prepare Royal Engineer Bridging equipment to meet operational and certification standards
* You will operate material handling equipment across multiple equipment variants
* You will support inspections, certification activity, and engineering assurance requirements
* You will carry out repairs using hand tools, powered tools, and bench mounted equipment
* You will ensure full asset accountability while maintaining strict health and safety standards
Please note that this position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools or standing for extended periods of time.
The role is based onsite at Ashchurch, and the set working times are Monday to Friday, totalling 37 hours per week.
Essential experience of the Royal Engineer Equipment Specialist:
* Experience operating material handling or manual handling equipment
* Experience working in practical, hands-on environments
* Confidence working independently and taking ownership of tasks
* Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
* Strong awareness of health and safety responsibilities

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
