Job Description:

* Job Title: Technical Specialist
* Job Type: Permanent
* Location: Ellesmere Port - onsite
* Hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm
* Salary: from £25,000 pa DOE
* Industry: Oil Conditioning Monitoring
Main Duties
* Ensuring all samples received are diagnosed and are issued within turnaround times according to business and customer requirements
* Perform investigational analysis including the planning and execution of out-of-scope operations, analysis and generation of bespoke reporting in accordance with business and customer requirements.
* Provide technical assistance to team leaders or other appropriate colleagues to maintain service levels and ensure efficient laboratory operations.
* Liaise with customers to keep them informed of analytical test issues such as delays, etc. to ensure customer satisfaction and confidence is maintained - this will include sporadic face to face site visits
* Maintain instrument up time assisting stakeholders in solving analytical instrument issues i.e. ICP, Viscosity and FTIR.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for this role is someone who has:
* Experience in a used oil laboratory environment or experience in a lubricant industry technical role
* Experience of Failure mode and effects analysis and undertaking Route Cause analysis
* Experience of wet chemistry analysis
* Experience in being an advance M package user - specifically Excel
Essential Qualifications
* Mechanical Engineering / Chemistry Qualification (C&G / HNC / HND)
* Time served experience with interpretation of FTIR, GC-MS, ICP data
