Job Title: Health And Safety Innovation Advisor
Location Aspect House, Blantyre

The main purpose of the role is to shape the future of health and safety across SPT projects. The role exists to challenge convention, introduce breakthrough ideas and lead the integration of modern digital technologies, data-driven insights and engaging communication approaches.
The purpose of the role is to accelerate the evolution of our health and safety culture, systems, and performance - pushing boundaries, exploring emerging technologies, and implementing transformative solutions that enhance safety, efficiency, and user experience. Working across the organisation and supply chain (including 600+ employees and 800-1000 contractors), the Advisor drives innovation that strengthens compliance, reduces risk, and prepares the organisation for future demands across the RII0-T3 price control period.
What you'll be doing
* Develop and champion data-driven approaches to risk management and strategic decision-making by creating PowerBI dashboards and using AI technologies to highlight business risks and mitigation measures
* Create and maintain advanced performance dashboards using PowerBI to allow for effective decision making
* Analyse monthly system and compliance data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities to ensure continual improvement across SPT projects sites in relation to innovation (process/data/systems)
* Use data insights to challenge assumptions, influence actions, and support proactive safety interventions by working alongside the Core, Strategic and HVDC Health and Safety teams to provide digital tools to improve performance
* Participate in cross-functional working groups and transformation projects that modernise how SPT operates in line with health and safety by ensuring digital tools, data systems and digital communication approaches are considered as part of the project to implement a transformative solution
* Modernise and elevate health and safety communications ensuring they are interactive, engaging and digitally enabled by providing digital communications to SPT Projects using AI technology
* Support cultural change initiatives including behavioural safety programmes and leadership engagement by implementing digital behavioural based health and safety programmes and training
* Lead the identification, design, and deployment of innovative health and safety tools, digital platforms, and process improvements by being the point of contact for all health and safety related innovation ideas/projects within SPT projects
* Drive transformation programmes aimed at enhancing efficiency, user experience, and system integration across health and safety functions by simplifying existing processes and procedures, with the focus of taking a digital approach using digital technologies including PowerBI, AI and PowerAutomate
* Review and interpret monthly performance data, providing insights on system performance, compliance levels, and improvement opportunities to ensure continual improvement of the health and safety management system
* Continually improvement for all Health and Safety processes through consistent internal gap analysis
* Feed into monthly performance reports based on associated working group updates with associated innovation/transformation updates
* Identify ways to support health and well-being through tools, surveys, ergonomic improvements and the implementation of these across sites
* Identify new technologies that improve employees' protection and the implementation of these across sites by scanning the external environment to understand best business practices.
* Design and develop interactive business intelligence dashboards (e.g. Power BI) that provide real-time insights into health and safety performance, contractor compliance, and operational risk indicators.
* Integrate multiple data sources (e.g. SharePoint, SafetyCulture, Excel datasets, and project reporting tools) to establish a single source of truth for health and safety performance reporting.
* Develop and implement automated digital workflows (e.g. Power Automate, SharePoint, Microsoft Lists) to streamline health and safety processes, reporting, and data capture across projects and contractor networks.
* Oversee and implement the H&S Communications annual plan with digital communications issued on a monthly basis
* Work with various project teams to understand health and safety limitations, with the aim of improving and working towards a digital solution / physical intervention / process to improve safety
* Support the development of a digitally enabled Health and Safety function by introducing modern reporting, automation and data management solutions across the SPT projects portfolio
What you'll bring
* A background in digital transformation, data analytics, and systems with a focus in construction or the energy industry
* understanding of health and safety systems, ISO 45001, CDM Regulations, and compliance to ensure data driven efficiency
* Proven experience in innovation, transformation, digital solutions, or system/process improvement roles.
* Excellent data analysis skills, with experience in performance reporting and continuous improvement.
* Strong communicator capable of simplifying technical information and inspiring engagement.
* Confident influencer with experience working in cross functional environment
* Experience with business intelligence platforms such as Power BI and other data visualisation tools.
* Experience with workflow automation platforms such as Power Automate and digital collaboration tools including SharePoint and Microsoft Lists.
* Strong understanding of digital transformation principles and process improvement methodologies.
* Minimum Tech IOSH membership and IOSH Managing Safely
* Current valid driving licence
