Healthcare Assistant (Dermatology)
St Michael's Street Shrewsbury SY1 2HE
Permanent, Full time, 40 hours per week
Paying £28,006 per annum dependent on experience and qualifications
Role Overview:
As a Healthcare Assistant you will provide high-quality clinical and administrative support to the dermatology team, ensuring safe, effective and compassionate patient care in a private clinical setting.
What you'll do:
* Support patients before, during, and after dermatological consultations and procedures
* Prepare treatment rooms, equipment, and sterile instrument
* Assist the Dermatologist / Nurse with minor surgical procedures, biopsies, laser treatments and wound care
* Apply dressings and provide post-procedure care as directed
* Take and manage clinical photographs where required by Dermatologists
* Accurately update and maintain electronic medical records within their scope of practice
* Manage consent forms and clinical documentation as required
* Assist with appointment scheduling and patient flow
* Handle clinical correspondence and basic reporting using Microsoft Office
* Monitor and replenish clinical stock and supplies
* Maintain confidentiality and comply with data protection regulations
What you'll bring:
* Previous experience working as a Healthcare Auxiliary in a healthcare setting
* Familiarity with basic medical terminology
* Competent in the use of Microsoft Office and electronic record systems
* Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care
* Care Certificate (completed)
* Basic Life Support (or willingness to undertake training)
* Infection prevention and control training
* Experience in dermatology, outpatient, or private clinical settings (Desirable)
* Experience assisting with minor surgical or aesthetic procedures (Desirable)
