The project: Join our expanding Mace Advisory Centre of Excellence within Mace Consult, where our team has a track record of successfully delivering a wide variety of commissions with both property and infrastructure clients across the globe.
We are seeking candidates with a broad and flexible technical skillset to complement our current team by offering strategic advice to our clients alongside Mace sector teams.
Our ideal candidates will bring developing strategic advisory capability, ideally gained within a consultancy business or through relevant advisory commissions. We are particularly interested in candidates with exposure to two or more of the following areas:
* Operating model/governance design, in a management consulting role.
* Organisation design, including team sizing, management spans and layers design, and role profile development in collaboration with senior management, for the set-up of new teams managing the delivery of large-scale capital projects.
* Capital planning and/or built asset management, including phasing, costing and business case development for large-scale capital projects.
* Feasibility studies for large capital projects, including evaluation of feasibilities from the engineering, financial, and economic perspectives.
* Economic and or Financial Modelling to inform investment decisions, in infrastructure and or real estate projects.
* Benefits management, including identification of different potential benefits from a potential project/option and the design/setup of benefits realisation frameworks.
* Change management on major transformation programme(s) in infrastructure sectors.
* Commercial advisory experience in supply chain management, procurement, commercial management and/ or commercial and contract negotiations.
Advisory Consultant: You will have early-career advisory experience, either through a graduate scheme, consultancy role or time spent supporting advisory commissions, and will be looking to build your capability within a supportive team committed to development and growth.
Please note: The candidate must be able to do some domestic and international travel and get relevant security clearance. This may include 2-3 days per week + on client site.
You'll be responsible for:
* Providing technical and advisory support to clients across a range of projects, working with guidance from more experienced colleagues where appropriate.
* Effective communication and engagement with the ability to translate complex topics to accessible and compelling language
* Supporting effective client liaison and service delivery, helping to maintain professional relationships with key members within our clients' organisations.
* Supporting business development activity by contributing to bid inputs, client materials and new business opportunities.
* Contributing to our Advisory Centre of Excellence where you will be passionate about sharing your knowledge and supporting team development.
You'll need to have:
* Have knowledge of one or more property and infrastructure sectors, such as aviation, rail, roads, healthcare, nuclear, utilities, energy, central or local government.
* Be skilled in research, analysis, generating creative ideas and optioneering as well as developing and delivering high quality presentations and reports.
* Be comfortable with a degree of uncertainty, self-motivated to learn new skills and explore a varied range of opportunities.
* Be able to support stakeholder engagement and client relationship management in a professional and collaborative way.
* Show flexibility and agility; you may be working on more than one commission plus submissions and internal development work so ability to manage a range of activities is a must.
