* Must be able to work safely in a production environment.
* Assemble all phases of power unit construction using a bill of material, arrangement drawing and schematic. (Use of hand tools such as tape measure, pneumatic tools and metal cutting equipment required.)
* Fit and weld pipe joints and structural assemblies per established welding codes using various welding processes such as GTAW, GMAW, SMAW and FCAW.
* Work independently with minimal supervision according to standard shop guidelines.
* Maintain a clean work area.
* Will work in an industrial environment in and around large machinery.
* Proper safety equipment is provided and must be worn at all times.
* Overtime may be requested.
* Perform other essential and related peripheral duties as may be assigned
Candidate Requirements:
Qualifications
* High school graduate from an accredited institution or equivalent (GED) with vocational/technical training in welding field/trade.
* Candidates with one to two years prior welding experience and some mechanical background preferred.
* Prior pipe welding experience is preferred.
* Experience reading drawings and schematics is preferred.
* Willingness to develop and refine proper welding techniques.
* Openness to pursuing certification in crane, scissor/forklift operation.
* Readiness to complete welder qualification testing.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with demonstrated capacity to listen carefully, follow directions, and complete work assignments in a timely manner.
* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a frequent basis.
* Able to travel up to 20% as needed
