Descripción del puesto:
Key Account Sales Team Lead - Milan
Location: Milan, Italy | Team: EU GTM - Sales IT | Type: Full-time, Office-first
Team description
Our Italy Sales team is one of the fastest-growing commercial teams at SumUp, and the Outbound function sits right at the centre of that growth. In less than six months, we've built a team of Account Executives from the ground up - focused on mid-market merchants - and now we're ready to scale it further. This role exists to give that team the leadership it needs: someone who can coach individuals to perform at their best, hold the team accountable to clear targets, and help shape the outbound strategy as we grow. If you're energised by building high-performing sales teams and want real ownership over how a team develops, this is the role for you.

What you'll do
* Lead and coach a growing team of Account Executives - running weekly pipeline reviews, one-to-ones, and performance conversations that drive accountability and development
* Refine the outbound sales strategy, including sequencing, messaging for our ideal customer profile, account sourcing, and territory mapping
* Support direct reports in client and prospect meetings, helping them close deals and develop their commercial skills
* Use sales data and metrics to track individual and team performance, and report results clearly to senior leadership
* Play an active role in hiring and onboarding new Account Executives as the team scales through 2026
* Work closely with the Head of Sales to shape team culture - building an environment of trust, healthy debate, and crisp execution
You'll be great for this role if…
* Proven people management experience, with the ability to coach, develop, and hold a sales team accountable to clear performance goals
* Solid background in a closing sales role within mid-market B2B, with a strong track record of hitting or exceeding targets as an individual contributor
* Strong understanding of outbound sales processes, including sequencing, prospecting, and pipeline management
* Comfort working with sales tools such as Gong, Lusha, Apollo, Sales Navigator, Outreach, or Pipedrive
* Fluency in both Italian and English - written and verbal - is essential for this role
Nice to have:
* Experience in the payments or fintech industry
* Familiarity with key account sales motions in a mid-market context
