Role Purpose
The Master Data Analyst is responsible for the accurate creation, validation, and maintenance of customer and vendor master data, ensuring completeness, consistency, and compliance with defined procedures. The role supports customer and vendor onboarding and associated data updates.
Role Description
This role performs day-to-day operational activities related to master data setup and maintenance, including validating requests, checking supporting documentation, and updating records in the system. The role also supports credit-related administrative tasks such as updating credit limits, preparing reports, and coordinating approvals.
The position involves close coordination with requestors and stakeholders to ensure timely processing, data accuracy, and adherence to approval workflows and controls.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Customer & Vendor Master Data Management
* Receive and process master data requests for customer and vendor creation, extension, and updates.
* Create and maintain customer master data (e.g., Sold-to, Ship-to, Bill-to) and vendor records in the system.
* Validate requests by checking mandatory information and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy.
* Perform checks for existing records and request additional information where required.
* Update and extend master data in the system and confirm completion to requestors
2. Validation and Approval Coordination
* Follow defined workflows for master data approval, including obtaining validations from designated approvers (e.g., N+1).
* Ensure all required approvals and documentation are received before processing requests.
* Coordinate with stakeholders to resolve incomplete or incorrect requests
3. Compliance and Data checks
* Perform basic checks such as blacklist/sanction list validation and ensure compliance with internal policies.
* Maintain proper documentation and audit trail for all master data activities.
* Ensure data accuracy and consistency across systems
4. Credit Administration Support
* Support credit limit setup by updating customer credit limits in the system based on approved requests.
* Prepare and distribute periodic credit reports (e.g., weekly credit limit reports).
* Assist in monitoring and updating credit limits, including customer block or release actions as instructed.
* Coordinate with stakeholders for credit-related updates and confirmations.
5. Continuous Improvement & Process Adherence
* Follow standard operating procedures and ensure adherence to defined processes and controls.
* Support process improvements and participate in system or workflow updates when required.
Key Requirements:
* Bachelor's/Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field
* 0-2 years of experience in Master Data, Finance Operations, or similar roles
* Fluency in English language is a must
Skills & Competencies
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to follow structured processes and workflows
* Basic understanding of customer/vendor master data concepts
* Good communication and coordination skills
* Ability to manage multiple requests and meet deadlines
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, etc.)
* Take ownership for assigned tasks and meets deadlines with accuracy, especially during the month-end closing process.
Measure of Performance for the role
Completion of master data requests within defined SLA timelines
Accuracy and completeness of master data with minimal rework
Adherence to approval workflows, documentation, and audit requirements
