Job Description
Transportation Management Specialist
In this role, you will be responsible for managing global transportation operations end-to-end, ensuring timely deliveries, documentation compliance, and continuous improvement of transportation processes across regions.
Your role:
As a Transportation Management Specialist, you will manage transportation planning and execution while proactively monitoring shipments on a global level. You will play a critical role in ensuring operational excellence, cost optimization, and full compliance with regulatory and documentation requirements.
Your key responsibilities include:
* End-to-end transportation planning and execution with proactive daily monitoring of shipments
* Global operational monitoring of shipments, including milestone tracking and deviation management
* Tracking shipments, driving corrective actions, and ensuring recovery in case of missed milestones
* Optimization of transportation operations across regions, including carrier and freight forwarder capacity leverage and lane allocation
* Driving and supporting cost optimization initiatives
* Maintenance of correct and complete master data in TMS and related logistics systems
* Coordination and communication of deviations between factories, warehouses, markets, and logistics service providers
* Driving transportation process improvements and operational excellence initiatives
* Ensuring executional compliance, delivery quality, and adherence to regulatory and quality requirements
* Implementing and driving global logistics process standardization
In addition, you will be responsible for transportation and shipping documentation, including:
* Preparation, validation, and control of transport and shipping documentation (e.g. transport documents, export/import documentation, commercial invoices, packing lists)
* Ensuring documentation accuracy and completeness to support customs clearance, regulatory compliance, and on-time delivery
You're the right fit if:
* You hold a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, with a focus on Logistics or Transportation
* You have 2-3 years of relevant experience in transportation, logistics operations, freight forwarding, or a shipper environment
* You have a good understanding of international transportation documentation and customs-related processes
* You demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with internal stakeholders and service providers
* You have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and an analytical mindset
* You have good working knowledge of MS Office, with expert-level skills in Microsoft Excel / Access
* Knowledge of SAP and TMS systems is a strong asset
* You have a fluent level of English
How we work together
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.
Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company's facilities.
Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company's main facilities, generally at the customers' or suppliers' locations.
