Are you an experienced TIG welder with a passion for high-integrity fabrication?

Would you like to support the manufacture of critical process piping to the highest quality standards?

Join our team

Baker Hughes is a global energy-technology company operating in more than 120 countries. For over a century, our innovations have supported safe, reliable, and efficient energy production. Our manufacturing and fabrication teams play a critical role in delivering high-integrity components and systems that meet demanding industry and customer requirements.

Partner with the best

As a Technician Welder, you will support the fabrication and welding of duplex stainless steel and Inconel-clad carbon steel pipe spools for high-integrity process piping applications. You will execute precision GTAW (TIG) welding activities in accordance with approved procedures, engineering drawings, and applicable welding codes, while working closely with production, inspection, and quality teams to ensure schedule and quality compliance.

As a Technician Welder, you will be responsible for:
* Executing GTAW (TIG) welding on duplex stainless steels and Inconel-clad carbon steel in accordance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
* Fabricating and welding pipe spools within the size range of ¾" to 9" OD, ensuring correct alignment, root integrity, and full weld penetration.
* Working in compliance with ASME IX and EN ISO 15614 / 9606 welding qualification standards (or approved company equivalents).
* Interpreting and working from isometric drawings, P&IDs, engineering drawings, weld maps, and WPS/PQR documentation.
* Performing weld preparation activities, including joint fit-up, bevel inspection, purge setup, and consumable control.
* Ensuring completed welds meet all NDE and QA acceptance criteria, including VT, PT, RT, and/or UT where required.
* Maintaining compliance with internal fabrication procedures, safety requirements, and material traceability standards.
* Collaborating with production supervision, welding inspectors, and QA personnel to ensure quality and delivery targets are achieved.

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role, you will:
* Be a time-served Welder or Mechanical Apprentice, supported by an engineering qualification.
* Have strong experience in TIG welding and pipe spool manufacturing.
* Demonstrate proven experience welding duplex stainless steel and Inconel overlay/clad materials, particularly on pipe spools and pressure-retaining components.
* Hold valid and in-date coding qualifications to ASME IX or EN ISO 9606 standards, or be willing and able to complete approval testing.
* Possess strong understanding of heat input control, ferrite control in duplex materials, and handling of nickel alloys.
* Be able to read, understand, and accurately interpret engineering documentation, WPS, and fabrication data sheets.
* Demonstrate a high level of workmanship suitable for stringent inspection and NDE requirements.
* Have good knowledge of HSE requirements and the ability to follow safety policies and procedures.
* Communicate effectively and work collaboratively within a team-focused fabrication environment.
* Be flexible and willing to work rotational shifts as required.
