Position Description:
We are looking for a motivated and technically curious co-op student to support the COM team in Quality Assurance, automation, and AI-driven solutions. This role is ideal for a student interested in software testing, database validation, and the practical application of AI tools, including building and guiding AI agents to support testing and productivity.
The co-op will work closely with developers, QA analysts, AI specialists, and architects on both traditional QA activities and emerging AI-enabled workflows.

Your future duties and responsibilities:
Execute test cases and support end-to-end QA activities
Use SQL queries to validate data outputs and troubleshoot issues
Assist in refining and documenting test cases, scenarios, and acceptance criteria
Support automation initiatives (test automation, workflow automation, or script development)
Build, configure, and guide AI agents or copilots to support QA, documentation, data analysis, and productivity tasks
Experiment with AI tools to identify opportunities for efficiency
Help create AI prompts, workflows, and reusable assets for the team
Document findings, create guidelines, and support team onboarding to AI tools
Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint deliverables
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Currently enrolled in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, Data Science, or a related program
Basic understanding of relational databases and SQL query writing
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Interest in AI, automation, and emerging technologies
Ability to learn new tools quickly and apply concepts to real use cases
Strong attention to detail and communication skills
Comfort experimenting with AI tools (ChatGPT, copilots, AI automators, etc.)

Nice-to-Have Skills
Experience building or guiding AI agents (OpenAI GPTs, copilots, BMad, AutoGen, or similar)
Understanding of prompt engineering fundamentals
Exposure to RPA tools or test automation frameworks
Familiarity with Python, JavaScript, or another scripting language
Knowledge of QA methodologies and SDLC
Experience using version control tools (Git)
CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $18-32/hour. This role is an existing vacancy.
