Job Description:
DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW

Co-op and Internship opportunities allow you to gain valuable work experience across a number of the businesses at TD. JOB DESCRIPTION

TD Insurance is part of TD Bank Group, one of Canada's largest financial institutions. TD Insurance helps protect clients from the 'accidents of life' with a wide range of products including credit protection, life, health, travel, home and auto insurance. With more than three million customers, TD Insurance authorized products and services are available online, over the phone, and through a network of more than 1,000 TD Canada Trust branches. In Canada, we have two lines of business, General Insurance and Life and Health. Our General Insurance business is one of the top home and auto insurance groups in Canada and the national leader in group insurance and affinity marketing. Our Life and Health business is the number one provider of critical illness insurance and direct life and health insurance in Canada. The TDI Governance and Control function is the cornerstone in the first (1B) of the three lines of defense model that TDBG utilizes for ensuring the effective management of risk.

Job Details

Reporting directly to the Manager, TDI Governance and Control, develops, implements, leads, monitors, and/or assesses quality management and risk management activities to promote organizational, operational, and client service excellence for identified business units within TD Insurance. The Governance and Control function is the cornerstone in the first line of the three lines of defence model that TDBG uses for ensuringthe effective management of risk. The Advisor (Intern) constantly assesses and improves quality to address operational, regulatory, and financial risks. This position performs a broad range of functions requiring initiative, confidentiality and judgment and requires flexibility with the ability to effectively function in a dynamic environment including working on ad hoc tasks and initiatives while balancing regular/routine priorities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
* Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Data, Business/Commerce or related field
* Must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree with the intent of going back to school at the start of your work term

Testing

*

Assists with conducting quality control / testing for identified business units across Canada

*

Assists with identifying and addressing new approaches and/or action plans to manage identified risks

*

Assists to oversee the follow-up of findings arising from internal risk assessments and/or audits and regulatory reviews

*

Maintains regular communication and provides regular proactive updates to management team on assigned work

*

Proactively identifies areas of opportunity to enhance existing testing programs

*

Document and share meeting minutes and action items

Data

*

Assist in documenting and maintaining data governance policies, standards, and frameworks.

*

Support data committees, preparing documentation and summaries of topics discussed as well as follow-ups.

*

Conduct thorough reviews of data-related materials to ensure quality and compliance with organizational standards.

*

Support data assessments by analyzing datasets, identifying discrepancies, and recommending corrective actions.

*

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline data processes and implement governance best practices.

*

Contribute to communication and educational initiatives, creating materials and resources to drive stakeholder awareness and adherence to governance principles.

*

Create reports where required to understand and communicate trends and performance

*

Maintenance of documentation and knowledge site for accuracy and improved user experience.

*

Support and contribute to data governance projects and initiatives.

Privacy

*

Execution of Privacy Access Requests; receive, track and complete customer Access Requests according to Regulatory requirements including timelines and masking standards.

Provide feedback to the leadership team on process improvement opportunities.

*

Assists with ensuring all relevant policies and procedures meet or exceed minimum regulatory compliance standards of practice and or generally accepted principles and practices.

*

Fosters a culture that promotes ethical practices and a high degree of integrity.

* This position is a 4-month work term and will commence May 4th - August 21st, 2026.
