Academic Year Internship Program Details
Program Dates: September 21, 2026 - April 23, 2027
Time Commitment: 16-24 hours per week. Exact schedule to be determined based on business need. We will do our best to accommodate course schedules.
Format: Opportunities listed will require an intern to work from New York, NY.

The Advertising & Partnerships division is a multifaceted organization that connects the content portfolio of NBCUniversal to advertisers, brand partners, and consumers. The division is broken out broadly into five core business areas: Ad Sales, which manages relationships with agencies and businesses of all sizes; Advertising Product & Solutions, which develops, operationalizes, and scales the products and solutions that enable innovation, automation, and performance across our ad sales ecosystem; Strategy, which uses research and data to guide big-picture decisions across content and advertising; Enterprise Marketing & Communications, which manages NBCUniversal's brand and storytelling across the marketplace, and Platform Monetization, which owns and optimizes the entire Pitch-to-Pay process, from building and pricing innovative plans to delivering industry-leading customer service, and driving growth through upsells and renewals. Together, these groups combine to support the division's mission to be the industry's most valuable partner for maximizing media effectiveness for clients of all sizes.

Data Science
The Data Science team instils advanced analytics and data science principles into advertising technology. The team collaborates with multiple product teams to support predictive modeling, measurement & optimization, reporting and analysis. This internship position offers a hands on opportunity to apply quantitative modeling, optimization, AI/ML to real word advertising challenges. You'll work with data scientists, analysts and product managers to design and test algorithms that predict performance and maximize ROI.
Business Intelligence
The Business Intelligence team leverages data to empower our business customers with actionable insights that drive business performance and foster a culture of data-driven decision-making within Ad Sales. Business Intelligence Product Managers and Analytics Engineers develop and execute on comprehensive roadmaps leveraging best-in-class technology solutions, enabling access to crucial business insights via dashboards, reports, self-service modules, and 'data as a product'.
Identity & Data Product
The Identity and Data Product team is responsible for collection, standardization, and management of NBCUniversal's owned and licensed data products and assets. NBCU collected consumer and licensed partner data is used to enable identity resolution, activation, monetization, and data collaboration through secure, privacy-centric methods and technologies. Our mission is to build and provide scaled data assets and collaborative technologies needed to power our performance capabilities.
Program Management
The Program Management Intern will rotate across multiple program management leads to gain hands-on exposure to the full lifecycle of advertising products, including Supply, Audiences, Measurement, Demand, and Operations. This internship is designed to provide meaningful, real-world experience supporting cross-functional initiatives as well as learn how advertising products are built, launched, and scaled at a leading media company.
Qualifications:
Basic Requirements:
* Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2026 through April 2027). December 2026 graduates are not eligible for this Academic Year Internship Program.
* Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
* Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States.
* Must be available to work 16-24 hours per week from September 21, 2026 - April 23, 2027.
* Must be willing to work in New York, NY.
For further clarification, candidates currently on any student or exchange visa (e.g. F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1) are not eligible to apply unless they will be able to change or adjust to another status that grants work authorization without NBCUniversal sponsorship.
NBCUniversal is an E-Verify company, requiring all employees to have an active Social Security number. Any candidate receiving an internship offer must complete I-9 form with Social Security number within 3 days of hire.
Desired Characteristics:
* Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
* Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
* For Business Intelligence- comfort with qualitative & quantitative data analysis, a strategic approach to problem solving, comfort with ambiguity.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Understanding data modeling, joins, and blending.
* Experience with BI tools (MicroStrategy, Tableau, Power BI, or Looker).
* Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups) and PowerPoint.
* Proficiency in Python and PySpark for data analysis and pipeline development.
* Familiarity with SQL and Snowflake for data manipulation and querying.
* Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP) and tools like Databricks is a plus.
* Understanding data privacy concepts and clean room technologies is a bonus.
The hourly rate for student interns is $19.00.
