Job Description:

Principal Product Analyst - Candy Crush

Help shape the future of Candy Crush's player experience and business performance. As a Principal Product Analyst, you'll partner with Product, Design, Marketing, Economy, and Analytics leaders to identify growth opportunities, influence strategy, and drive measurable impact across some of the game's most important initiatives. You will be part of the Candy Crush Gameplay Analytics team and work closely with other data scientists and analysts.

Your role within the Kingdom

* Bring a deep understanding of free-to-play game systems, player behaviour, progression, economies, engagement mechanics, and live events. Navigate complex product ecosystems and identify opportunities to improve player and business outcomes.
* Identify growth opportunities across key game initiatives and events by analysing player behaviour and performance trends. Support product discovery by validating opportunities, evaluating potential impact, and providing data-driven recommendations that inform roadmap decisions.
* Define measurement frameworks and success metrics, and design and run experiments that support confident product decisions. Ensure results are statistically sound, clearly communicated, and translated into actionable recommendations.
* Evaluate how game systems, rewards, and incentives influence player behaviour and affect performance. Assess the impact of product changes, identify patterns, and help teams understand trade-offs and opportunities to maximise impact.
* Own the analytics strategy for key game interventions, working closely with cross-functional teams to influence decisions, drive alignment, and deliver measurable results.
* Raise the bar for analytics through mentorship, reusable frameworks, and best practices that improve ways of working and decision-making in the analytics team.

Skills to create thrills

* Deep understanding of free-to-play products and the ability to connect player behaviour, product performance, and business outcomes.
* Set high standards for experimentation and measurement, ensuring robust insights that inform product decisions and strategy.
* Understand and optimise complex product systems to balance player experience and business performance.
* Anticipate trends, quantify impact, and use data to guide long-term product decisions.
* Translate complex analyses into clear, actionable insights and effectively influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.

Experience we're looking for

* 7+ years in product analytics or growth analytics within free-to-play games, consumer tech, or similarly fast-iterating online products.
* Proven track record shaping product strategies end-to-end, from opportunity identification and discovery through launch, measurement, and iteration.
* Advanced SQL (BigQuery or similar) and proficiency with Python or R; experience with BI and visualisation tools (e.g., Looker).
* Strong statistics and experimentation background; comfortable working in ambiguous and complex environments.
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering) or equivalent experience.

Bonus points

* Experience with large-scale live events, tournament-style experiences, or other high-impact player initiatives at scale.
* Familiarity with player segmentation frameworks, LTV modelling, and portfolio-level trade-off analysis.
* Experience working with experimentation platforms and measuring the impact of product features and initiatives.

Ways of working

* Take ownership of the analytics strategy for your area, proactively identifying opportunities, driving clarity, and helping teams make better decisions.
* Build strong partnerships across Product, Production, Marketing, Economy, Design, and Data Engineering, using data and insights to influence direction and align teams around common goals.
* Raise the quality and impact of analytics through mentorship, reusable frameworks, dashboards, documentation, and best practices that help teams work more effectively
