Accountant
Location: Pune, India (working onsite 4-5 days a week)
Position Summary
As an Accountant at HackerOne, you will support our global finance operations with a focus on month-end close activities while collaborating closely with teams in the US and UK. You play a key role in accruals, prepaid expenses and operational workflows as the accounting function continues to scale. This role will be required to work US EST hours in order to timely support our global team.
In this role, you will help scale reliable, compliant financial processes that support HackerOne's growth and mission. You will gain hands-on experience in a SaaS environment, work with best-in-class finance systems, and contribute to the operational excellence that enables our teams to focus on securing the internet.

What You Will Do
* Deliver accurate and timely month-end, quarterly, and annual close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analysis, applying Data-Driven Decision Making to identify variances and improve financial accuracy
* Own key balance sheet areas (accruals, prepaids, cash, and other accounts), ensuring completeness and accuracy through First Principles Problem Solving to simplify and strengthen accounting processes
* Prepare and record journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation in compliance with GAAP
* Support global accounting operations including accounts payable, expense reports, payment processing, and bank reconciliations, demonstrating Change Agility while working across time zones and evolving processes
* Manage corporate card and Travel & Expense programs, ensuring policy adherence, accurate reconciliations, and efficient workflows
* Use an AI First mindset to identify opportunities for automation, process improvements, and scalable solutions within accounting operations
* Partner with internal stakeholders and vendors, responding to inquiries within SLAs while maintaining strong communication and collaboration
* Support audits and internal controls by maintaining clear documentation and strengthening controls over financial processes, continuously improving efficiency and scalability
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience
* 2-3 years of accounting experience in a global company
* Experience using an ERP system (e.g. Workday) and a strong understanding of US GAAP
* Experience supporting month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations and flux analysis
* Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to partner effectively with global stakeholders
* Must be able to work US based EST hours
Preferred Qualifications
* Prior experience using Workday
* Experience supporting US-based finance teams across time zones
* Exposure to SOX compliance and audit support processes
* Advanced Excel skills (lookups, pivots, reconciliations)
Compensation
₹20,00,000 to ₹22,50,000 + Equity
