A Day in the Life

A Day in The Life Of:
* Provide technical support to R&D engineers in the execution of laboratory testing and prototype development activities
* Support prototype builds and development work within designated prototype build areas
* Set up, operate, and maintain laboratory test equipment to support engineering studies
* Conduct mechanical testing including tensile testing and other material or component evaluations
* Support metrology and dimensional inspection activities using appropriate measurement equipment
* Assist with the preparation of samples, fixtures, and test setups required for laboratory testing
* Support additive manufacturing activities including 3D printing of prototypes and development components
* Perform potting and other preparation techniques required for component testing and analysis
* Work from engineering drawings, specifications, and written or verbal instructions
* Maintain laboratory equipment and prototype build areas in a safe, organized, and compliant manner
* Manage laboratory inventory, consumables, and tooling to ensure materials and equipment are available to support development activities
* Support continuous improvement activities within the R&D lab environment
* Demonstrate flexibility to support the fluctuating demands, peaks, and troughs of multiple project teams within the R&D environment

Key Skills & Experience
* NFQ Level 6 qualification in Engineering, Science, or related technical discipline
* Experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, R&D, or prototype development environment
* Hands-on experience with testing, sample preparation, metrology, tensile testing, 3D printing, or sterilisation processes is advantageous
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings, procedures, and technical documentation.
* Strong attention to detail, documentation, and computer skills
* Proactive, hands-on team player with strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving abilities
* Flexible and adaptable in supporting a range of testing and development activities

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
