Main Responsabilities

* Is responsible for achieving departmental/area goals and objectives.
* Supervises semi to highly skilled production and/or maintenance employees on an assigned shift to ensure the manufacture of products within established delivery, quality, safety and cost standards.
* The supervisor is the first-line liaison between the production employees and the management staff and thus also serves the function of representing the company'sinterests with the shop floor staf

What Skills You Need

* Knowledge of general accounting in support of establishing and managing departmental operating budgets. (Has a good understanding of the principles and can independently use the knowledge.)
* Understanding of employee policies, practices, procedures and workrules appropriate for the unit. (Has a good understanding of the principles and can independently use the knowledge.)
* Knowledge of shop floor manufacturing and/or warehouseand distribution production pay systems. (Performs more complex functions, understands principles, may teach others.)
* Working knowledge of the appropriate operating and information systems. (Has a good understanding of the principles and can independently use the knowledge.)
* Knowledge of manufacturing and/or distribution processes, quality, tooling, tool design, total preventative maintenance and facilities. (Performs more complex functions, understands principles, may teach others.)
* Understanding of Deere Production System, Lean Manufacturing, Just-in- Time, Kanban, Demand Flow Technology. (Performs more complex functions, understands principles, may teach others.)
* Knowledge of products, customers, markets and competitors. (Has a good understanding of the principles and can independently use the knowledge.

What Makes You Stand Out

* · Experience with shop floor manufacturing,
* Experience with Production Control systems,
* Demonstrated team leadership and mentoring experience

Education

* Degree in an Engineering/Technology discipline or equivalent experience. (University Degree (4 years or equivalent))
