As a Medical Promotional Reviewer supporting the Research & Development function, a team that innovates boldly and delivers new products and services to help revolutionize the eye care industry, advance optimal patient outcomes and help people see brilliantly. The Principal, Scientific Education (Science/Tech/Engineering Path) is primarily responsible for driving professional recommendations through top-tier education and engagement with thought leaders. You will build relationships with Eye Care Professionals and Key Accounts to promote Alcon brands, provide technical support, and implement international education strategies locally. Complex tasks are tackled using scientific principles to foster innovation.

In this role, a typical day will include:
* Provide the medical review of promotional and advertising materials in accordance with approved labeling and compliance with applicable regulations and industry standards that support effective and safe use of Alcon products by patients and the medical community
* Provide medical review addressing the scientific accuracy, clinical information, and bio-statistical validity of promotional materials
* Provide medical review of concept/draft advertising and promotional materials
* Remain current with medical literature in assigned therapeutic areas
* Provide accurate and consistent medical review of advertising and promotional materials on time and minimize review cycles for material approval
* Work with cross-functional team supporting review of advertising and promotional materials and with Medical team in assigned therapeutic areas to optimize effectiveness and mitigate risk of promotional claims
* Execution of Medical promotional review within planned timelines, with high level of accuracy/consistency and in compliance with country-specific laws and regulations

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:
* Education: Advanced degree in medical specialty, or life sciences (OD or MD- ophthalmologist will be preferred; others such as PhD, can be considered on basis of ophthalmological experience)
* Minimum: technical/scientific MS degree in the clinical/life sciences with extensive knowledge in ophthalmic therapeutic area
* +2 years of experience in a combination of academic or medical device industry experience
* +2 years of experience in providing medical review of promotional and advertising materials preferred
* Strong understanding of and commitment to compliance including knowledge of ICH, GCP, local and regional guidelines and regulations on interactions with HCPs, and other ethical guidelines relevant to the pharmaceutical and/or medical device industry
* Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix leadership environment
* Analytical skills and ability to interpret scientific data correctly
* Strong collaboration and communication skills
* Fluent in Spanish, Portuguese and English (written and spoken)
