Job Description

In this role, you have the opportunity to

Help shape the future of minimally invasive healthcare by leading the design validation strategy for innovative clinical solutions within Philips Image Guided Therapy (IGT). You will ensure that our solutions are safe, effective, and supported by robust evidence that demonstrates clinical value and enables regulatory compliance.
As Design Validation Lead, you will play a critical role in translating customer and clinical needs into meaningful validation strategies, ensuring that our innovations deliver positive outcomes for clinicians, healthcare providers, and patients worldwide.

The Validation & Usability team within the Image Guided Therapy Systems R&D organization. This team brings together experts in validation, usability engineering, clinical evidence, and human-centered design to ensure that Philips innovations deliver meaningful clinical impact.
You will work in close partnership with stakeholders across Clinical Science, Clinical Marketing, Service, Innovation, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, and Product Development, contributing to the successful delivery of advanced image-guided therapy solutions.

Your role

As Design Validation Lead, you will be responsible for defining and executing validation strategies that support the development and commercialization of innovative image-guided therapy applications.
You will:
* Lead the design validation strategy for new product developments, including claim validation and algorithm validation activities.
* Define evidence generation plans and clinical validation approaches aligned with regulatory, business, and customer requirements.
* Drive the collection, analysis, and interpretation of validation evidence to demonstrate safety, effectiveness, and intended use.
* Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary stakeholders across R&D, Clinical Science, Clinical Marketing, Service, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, and Innovation.
* Ensure clinical studies and validation activities are aligned with evolving evidence needs throughout the product development lifecycle.
* Manage validation projects, resources, timelines, risks, and stakeholder expectations across multiple initiatives.
* Monitor developments in medical imaging, image-guided therapy, AI-enabled healthcare solutions, and industry best practices to continuously strengthen validation approaches.
* Contribute to compliance with applicable regulations, standards, and Philips design control processes.
* Support the continuous improvement of validation methodologies, tools, and practices within the organization.

You're the right fit if

* You hold a PhD in a medical, clinical, biomedical, or related scientific discipline.
* You have experience within the medical device or healthcare industry, preferably in medical imaging and/or image-guided therapy.
* You have experience leading design validation activities and evidence generation programs for healthcare products.
* You have experience with validation of AI-enabled medical devices or software-based healthcare solutions (preferred).
* You have experience in Usability Engineering and human factors validation (preferred).
* You possess a strong understanding of research methodologies, clinical study design, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
* You have knowledge of medical device regulations, design controls, and applicable international standards.
* You have demonstrated project management skills and the ability to successfully manage multiple stakeholders and priorities.
* You are a strong communicator who can effectively influence and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
* You combine analytical thinking with a proactive, quality-focused mindset and a passion for solving complex healthcare challenges.
* You are fluent in English, both written and spoken.
