Role Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled AI Developer with strong experience in building, training, and deploying machine-learning and generative AI models. You will work alongside the colleague's research and engineering team, contributing to the design and implementation of AI components essential to the Vermeer project.
This role is ideal for someone who is proactive, comfortable working independently, and excited about contributing to an innovative academic-industry project.

About the Project

The Vermeer project is a collaborative initiative currently being developed by a partner colleague, focusing on advancing AI-driven solutions in [insert field-e.g., data analysis, creative AI, education technology, security, etc.]. As the project expands into its next development phase, we are seeking an experienced freelance AI Developer to support the technical team and help accelerate feature development.

Key Responsibilities
* Develop, test, and optimize machine-learning or generative AI models for the Vermeer project.
* Collaborate with the colleague research team to integrate AI functionalities into the existing system architecture.
* Implement data preprocessing, model training pipelines, and model evaluation frameworks.
* Create clean, well-documented code and contribute to the project's technical documentation.
* Propose technical improvements and scalable solutions based on the project's needs.
* Support troubleshooting, debugging, and performance tuning of AI components.

Required Skills & Experience
* Development & Iteration: Help design, build, and continuously improve internal AI automation tools to reduce manual effort and production costs.
* Programming Languages: Proficiency in Python for AI logic/scripting and Javascript/TypeScript for application development.
* AI Expertise: Practical experience with RAG architecture, prompt engineering, and integrating LLMs into functional web applications.
* Protocols & Tools: Hands-on experience with MCP (Model Context Protocol) and advanced GitHub workflows.
* Cloud Services: Experience in AWS and Google Cloud.
* Database & Auth: Experience with Firebase is a significant plus, as it powers our current high-volume AI banner generation tools.
