Job Description:

This role is a 15-month FTC and sits within our UPCG Publicity Team. Based in London, you will be reporting into the Senior Publicity Manager. The UPCG Publicity team is responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, and project management of integrated publicity campaigns across all UPCG and select Focus Features releases globally across the entire lifecycle of the release - from pre-production through to production, theatrical, home entertainment, TV/SVOD and beyond! We work closely with internal and external teams, especially marketing, contributing key publicity thinking and oversight, ensuring the execution of holistic marketing campaigns globally.
Working on the day-to-day campaigns, you will be managing external agencies, liaising with a variety of stakeholders including studio execs, filmmakers, licensors, talent reps; targeting and liaising with film festivals and liaising with local UPI territories, marketing and distribution teams. Communication, attention to detail and a can-do attitude is key.
You will be based at the Universal offices at Central Saint Giles, central London, working 4 days from the office, with working from home on Fridays permitted. The position includes a potential degree of travel and work outside of office hours.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting the senior publicity manager in the strategic planning and implementation of Publicity campaigns including day-to-day management of PR agencies and territory liasion
* Confidently communicate to internal stakeholders, external agencies, international festivals, talent reps and licensors
* Manage talent interviews including drafting and checking schedules, collating requests, overseeing junket/virtual interviews and talent handling where appropriate
* Collate, analyse and report on coverage, update campaign reports and produce presentations. Compose and distribute publicity updates and filmmaker reports as needed
* Oversee logistics for international press junkets, set visits, press trips, premieres and special events, coordinating travel, accommodation, groomers, crews and suppliers in collaboration with the publicity assistant and/or agencies
* Support international festival activity by researching targets, maintaining key festival relationships, coordinating approvals with local territories, managing the festival agency and overseeing materials delivery
* Research around our broad range of film, TV and entertainment projects that often have specialist subjects at their core
* Monitor industry news, keeping your finger on the pulse of current affairs, media/film trends, competitive landscape and overall zeitgeist and share findings internally
* Occasionally assist the team at out of hours events e.g. evening and weekend screenings, film festivals, Q&A's and special events
* Contribute to budgets, proactively monitor spending and support with monthly forecasts

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas:
* Experience in entertainment PR, preferably within film or TV, either in-house or agency-side, with a proven ability to manage multiple campaigns, talent junket schedules and event screenings (essential)
* A passion for film and entertainment with experience in entertainment publicity (essential)
* Theatrical publicity - sound knowledge of publicity, marketing and social campaigns as well as red carpet / premiere media management (desirable)
* Experience of international film festivals and award campaigns (desirable)
* Strong attention to detail
* Excellent organisational skills, ability to handle multiple projects, and clearly identify priorities
* Ability to be flexible and willing to work on projects outside of your comfort zone
* Solutions oriented, deadline driven, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
* Act as a positive, energetic and dependable team player when working under pressure
* Have a strong sense of innovation and imagination to bring your own creativity to publicity campaigns
* Proactively take initiative, consistently identifying opportunities and anticipating challenges in advance
