Join us as a Depositary Services Transaction Manager

* You'll be joining our NatWest Trustee and Depositary Services (TDS) Chief Operating Office (COO) Team supporting client property and investment transactions, as well as wider project initiatives
* You'll work with internal and external clients, stakeholders and legal colleagues and play a key part in the provision of underlying investor protection and business controls

* To join us in this role, you'll be located in either Edinburgh or London so that you can attend the office when required

What you'll do

TDS' teams are split across Edinburgh and London with a sister Depositary company in Luxembourg. You'll work in a supportive, learning environment helping to ensure underlying investor protection and great client outcomes in a highly regulated market.

You'll manage external advisers and other stakeholders to deliver TDS client transactions on a timely basis, liaising with internal and external legal teams as required to deliver against all relevant legal and, regulatory obligations. You'll also have the opportunity to lead and deliver wider business projects to time, cost and quality requirements.

Your other key responsibilities will include:

* Dealing with all matters in relation to real estate transactions, while managing third-party suppliers and regulatory notification requirements
* Completing appropriate checks and documentation regarding scheme events before taking action accordingly
* Making sure that legal and regulatory changes are implemented into our policies and procedures
* Working with TDS Legal to effectively co-ordinate and co-operate across the team to deliver consistent approaches in the provision of legal services to TDS
* Identifying and managing the escalation of conduct risk to deliver key customer outcomes
* Expanding your knowledge of the funds market, trustee and depositary businesses and regulatory environments in the UK and Luxembourg

The skills you'll need

To succeed in this role, you'll need experience of supporting both residential and commercial property transactions: the documentation involved and associated risks including economic (financial) crime. Knowledge of the UK Funds industry including UCITS and Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs) products, as well as the principal regulatory and legal framework within which they operate. Excellent time management, attention to detail and interpersonal skills across a range of internal and external stakeholders. Conveyancing paralegal experience is advantageous along with economic crime risk and control awareness.

You'll also need:

* A background of working with real estate law firms and other professional advisers and consultants
* Commercial awareness and the ability to learn and remain up-to-date on relevant legal and market changes
* The ability to apply a risk-based approach, considering potential impacts to underlying investors and TDS
* To possess experience in the preparation, review, and amendment of Powers of Attorneys and related real estate and fund documentation
* A strong desire to expand your knowledge into new areas and learn and develop your skills and experience
