The role
As a Commercial Administrator, you'll play a vital role in managing the commercial lifecycle of large scale rail projects. Working closely with project, finance and client teams, you'll help protect margin, drive cash flow and maintain strong commercial governance from contract award through to final account. This is a commercially focused position where accuracy, insight and collaboration directly influence project outcomes and business performance.
Day to day you'll be required to:
* Prepare and administer variations, adjustment events and applications for payment, supporting timely revenue recognition and cash collection.
* Maintain accurate, auditable commercial records and correspondence to protect Babcock's contractual and financial position.
* Support cost control, change management and subcontract administration, ensuring commercial risks and opportunities are identified and managed.
* Attend project and client meetings, contributing to cost reporting, risk and opportunity registers and progress updates.
* Build strong working relationships with customers and internal stakeholders, supporting collaborative delivery across the Alliance.
This role is full-time working 35 hours per week, based at Cadder Yard near Glasgow, Scotland. Hybrid working patterns are available with a minimum of three days on site.
Essential experience of the Commercial Administrator:
* A confident and professional communicator, able to engage effectively with colleagues, suppliers and customers.
* Strong attention to detail and numerical capability, with the ability to manage commercial documentation accurately.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable working with commercial and financial systems (SAP experience desirable).
* Well organised and proactive, able to manage multiple commercial priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications for the Commercial Administrator:
