We have an excellent opportunity for a Factory Quality Manager to join our Nestlé Purina team in Wisbech.

Our Wisbech factory makes some of the UK's most well-known and much-loved brands, such as Felix, Winalot and Gourmet and is constantly developing to meet the changing needs of our consumers. This factory has gone through significant capital investment on new lines and new exciting technology leading to a transformational change in facilities and performance which offers fantastic development opportunities to continue to drive and lead this change.

Your Impact

The Quality Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring that quality, compliance, food safety, and hygiene standards are consistently maintained and promoted within the site. This position acts as the guardian of food safety and compliance, challenging all other functions in the pursuit of zero defects, which is essential for maintaining consumer trust and preference. The Quality Manager will lead a team of 20, overseeing the quality management processes at a facility with 600 employees and an annual production capacity of 130,000 tons. They are an integral part of the factory leadership team and support the Factory Manager with driving and leading change across the site.

Key Responsibilities

* Quality Assurance Management: Oversee the Quality Management System to ensure compliance with product quality standards.

* Team Leadership and Development: Lead and develop the Quality team, ensuring they are trained on relevant quality and compliance systems.

* Budget and Resource Management: Manage the budget for quality-related activities and influence overall factory budget decisions.

* Program Development and Monitoring: Introduce and monitor quality and food safety programs in collaboration with other departments.

* Customer and Supplier Interaction: Document and respond to customer complaints, ensuring timely corrective actions are implemented.

* Capital Expenditure (CapEx) Project Management: Manage capital improvement projects, ensuring effective planning, execution, and delivery in line with budget, timelines, and organisational objectives.

Your ingredients for success

The Quality Manager position requires proven experience in quality assurance within a food manufacturing or production environment. Candidates should have a proven background in managing quality systems, with a focus on maintaining compliance and food safety standards. This role demands a proactive approach to quality management, ensuring that the highest standards are upheld to foster consumer trust and satisfaction.

Key Skills and Experience

* Essential Qualifications: Degree qualified in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, or related studies.

* Quality Assurance Experience: Proven experience in quality assurance within a food manufacturing environment, including QA auditing and managing quality systems.

* Product Development Knowledge: Experience in introducing new products and applying continuous improvement tools and principles.

* Technical Expertise: Knowledge of microbiological testing, food technology, and hygiene practices relevant to quality management.

* Leadership and Management Skills: A proven ability to motivate, influence, and coach team members, and other functions alongside experience in line management.
