OUR STORY

At STMicroelectronics, we believe in the power of technology to drive innovation and make a positive impact on people, businesses, and society. As a global semiconductor company, our advanced technologies and chips form the hidden foundation of the world we live in today.

When you join ST, you will be part of a global business with more than 115 nationalities, present in 40 countries, and comprising over 50,000 diverse and dedicated creators and makers of technology around the world.

Developing technologies takes more than talent: it takes amazing people who understand collaboration and respect. People with passion and the desire to disrupt the status quo, drive innovation, and unlock their own potential.
Embark on a journey with us, where you can innovate for a future that we want to make smarter and greener, in a responsible and sustainable way. Our technology starts with you.
The increasing demand for real-time, high-resolution imaging in critical fields such as autonomous vehicles, industrial inspection, and augmented reality has catalyzed significant advancements in CMOS image sensor technology. The Pixel/Analogue team at ST Edinburgh has developed an innovative sensor platform that uniquely integrates High-definition Time-of-Flight (ToF) depth sensing with other functionalities on the same focal plane, based on Single-Photon Avalanche Diodes (SPADs). This versatile technology offers unprecedented control over the imager, enabling novel experimental approaches.
YOUR ROLE
The successful student will gain hands-on experience working with our state-of-the-art imagers, specifically focusing on our High-definition Time-of-Flight (ToF) chip. This chip supports multiple operational modes using Single-Photon Avalanche Diode (SPAD) technology. The project involves designing and conducting imaging experiments in close collaboration with the Pixel team, exploring the sensor's capabilities and pushing the boundaries of imaging technology.
YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
* Undergraduate student in Electronic Engineering
* Good level of electronics design
* Familiarity with FPGA control is preferred
* Basic understanding of CMOS imager working principles

Successful applicants must have the right to work in the UK
