About The Team

The Portfolio Management team plays a pivotal role within the Actuarial Pricing function. We turn complex data into meaningful insights that directly shape product strategy, underwriting actions, claims management and overall portfolio steerage. Our work sits at the intersection of Product, Underwriting, Claims, Risk and Pricing, giving the team a broad view of the business and a meaningful influence on decisions that drive sustainable growth.

Focus of the internship

As an intern, you will be immersed in real portfolio performance work- analysing experience across products, monitoring trends and contributing to key insights. You will also support the evaluation of reinsurance arrangements and may gain exposure to life pricing. This role offers a hands-on introduction to how actuarial insights guide business direction.

Key Responsibilities

* Experience Analysis: Analyse experience across multiple products, channels and customer segments. You will prepare, clean and validate data, and translate emerging experience into meaningful insights that support decision-making.
* Portfolio Monitoring: Support the team in tracking claims, premiums and loss ratio trends. You will help identify shifts, patterns and anomalies in portfolio performance, contributing directly to reinsurance evaluations and broader portfolio health assessments.
* Operational support: Assist with ad-hoc analytical tasks and administrative activities that ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of the team's outputs.

Key Learnings

* Exposure to Actuarial Modelling: Gain hands-on experience with actuarial modelling tools and industry-standard softwares such as MS Excel, Alteryx and Prophet, strengthening your technical foundation.
* Develop Actuarial Expertise: Enhance your understanding of actuarial concepts while refining your analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities through real business applications.
* Stakeholder Management and Communication Skills: Work closely with teams across Product, Underwriting, Claims and Risk.
* Learn how to communicate technical findings clearly to diverse stakeholders.

Education & Experience Requirements

* Currently pursuing a degree in relevant field such as Actuarial Science, Economics or Business Finance.
* Being familiar with Excel, Prophet and Alteryx will be advantageous.
