Join our affiliate TotalEnergies One Tech Belgium in Feluy !

Within the numerical team, at TOTB research center, you will work in collaboration with the analysis department whose objectives are to identify, characterise, and quantify the chemical substances in a sample. The measurements taken for each sample (raw data) are typically pre-processed and then interpreted by the chemists. When the sample is complex, some steps are time-consuming and could be accelerated.
Morevover we aim to leverage historical data, which is available in various formats (paper, proprietary format files, etc.).
The main mission will be to automate the processing of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) data analysis, in order to reduce the time required to analyse a sample and improve the accuracy of the results. During this mission, you will bring and develop your skills in understanding user needs, programming, and prototyping. You will implement pragmatic tools (Excel macros, Python scripts, PowerApp), easy to use, and you will have the opportunity to directly measure their impact with users. You will develop your skills in data management and will be able to implement data exploitation tools based on Machine Learning. The data aspect will also serve as a coordination point with the experimental database project.

Candidate Profile

Expected qualifications:

- Engineering degree or Master's degree in Computer Science or Theoretical Chemistry with programming experience

Technical skills :

- Skills in data management, programming, and prototyping
- Understanding of user needs: ability to listen, analyze, and translate needs into concrete solutions
- Teaching skills to explain technical solutions to non-specialists
- Proactive approach to learning and finding solutions
- Enjoy working in a team: collaboration with chemists and developers
- Basic knowledge of agile project management is a plus

Computing skills :

- Very good knowledge of Python
- Basic knowledge of Excel, Power App, and/or PowerBi
- Ability to automate workflows
- Knowledge of fundamental data mining concepts
- Familiarity with digital environments (Cloud, SharePoint, Git, versioning tools)

Languages :

- English: level B2/C1
- French: level C1
