The apprenticeship will report to the SA DCL Risk Change Team Manager:
Context
* Project on DigitalAssetClear, a new segregated clearing service for cash settled Futures and Option on digital asset;
* Transverse projects such as IT migration software or regulatory projects or transversal LCH and LSEG initiatives that have an impact on DCL FLR systems.
Overall objectives
* Build/Help maintaining all the Python based script/notebooks/dashboards covering areas such as risk management reports (Margin analysis), controls (data quality reports), analytics (Portfolio analyzer), Default Management tools, Model testing (Backtesting, sensitivity testing) or any topics impacting risk.
* Make sure that all scripts / reports / notebooks / dashboards are robust, reliable and can run locally and on the cloud-based infrastructure.
* Adhere and contribute to ongoing efforts to the library maintenance, including code clarity, code documentation;
* Suggest library improvement and/or code refactoring;
* Assist the SA DCL First Line Risk/Risk IT BA efforts to build and maintain a comprehensive, structured and well documented Python library on a environment based on recent technology (QRisk);
* Execute testing as well as testing with external parties -when needed- accordingly to test plans/scenario.
* Ensure automated testing tools are up and running in accordance with projects timeline and Risk BA requests.
* Anticipate and inform the SA DCL First Line Risk of any problem or risk regarding change risk tools/testing and especially when it could lead to a possible impact on the risk framework, risk monitoring, default management, operational control or general project planning;
* Train other resources across FLR team (Quant / Change / Prod as the case may be) and maintain an equal level of knowledge within the Risk change team regarding any update on script/notebooks/dashboards.
Key skills
* Python skills (or development skills in equivalent language), including shared development, maintenance & code versioning (GitLab) knowledge is mandatory.
* Knowledge of Jupyter Notebooks and AWS/Snowflake is a plus.
* Ability to communicate fluently in French and English verbally and in writing.
* Professional and responsible behaviour - attendance, rigor, and constancy.
* Ability to find solutions and anticipate any problems.
* Lead himself/herself to take the initiative on his/her area of responsibility.
* Ability to understand algorithms of risk calculation (financial mathematics fundamentals) is a plus.
