JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a motivated Plant Facilities Apprentice to join our Facility Monitoring & Control System (FMCS) team at STMicroelectronics Malta for a 12-month apprenticeship, with the possibility of extension.

This internship offers hands-on experience in operating, monitoring, and maintaining advanced semiconductor facility systems using SCADA and PLC technologies. The intern will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal plant operations and contribute to innovative automation projects.

Duties & Responsibilities
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Assist in designing SCADA graphic pages and integrating instrumentation.
* Support SCADA system usage and help with new system integration projects.
* Help analyze equipment and sustainability data to improve system performance.
* Support data acquisition and quality control processes.
* Assist in maintaining and troubleshooting SCADA and PLC systems.
* Help expand SCADA monitoring by installing new sensors.
* Participate in automation projects for new manufacturing facilities.

Skills & Qualifications
The ideal candidate shall:
* Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or related fields.
* Basic understanding of SCADA, PLC systems, and industrial automation concepts is a plus.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform statistical data analysis.
* Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
* Proactive problem-solving attitude and willingness to learn in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
