Job Description

As a Journeyperson Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge your care and attention to detail will ensure that our guests have a memorable stay in the Canadian Rockies.   
What you will be doing:  
Reporting to the Director of Engineering, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
* Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
* Follow departmental policies, procedures and service standards
* Responsible for all HVAC related trade work at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge
* Responsible for the installation, repair and maintenance of all HVAC equipment
* Preventative maintenance of equipment pertaining to HVAC
* Ensure all work done in the HVAC department is in compliance with federal and provincial codes and regulations
* Ensure all power tools are in good and safe working conditions
* Must be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule based on volume of business
* Train and assist the shift maintenance colleagues
* Assist other trades as they relate to HVAC maintenance
* Communicate effectively and professionally with both guests and colleagues
* Adhere to the hotel's vehicle handling and safety policies while driving hotel and guest vehicles

* Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:
* Provincial Journeyperson Certificate issued by the Province of Alberta or Red Seal Endorsement is required.
* Maintenance experience of HVAC equipment is required.
* Proficient in Microsoft Windows applications required (Word, Excel & Power Point)
* Gas Fitting Ticket an asset
* Pneumatic controls experience an asset
* Valid Alberta driver's license required
* Excellent communication and organizational skills
* Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
* Highly responsible & reliable
* Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
* Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervision
* Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
* Candidates that possess a Provincial Journeyperson Certificate issued by the Province of Alberta in a related trade, defined by Apprenticeship and Industry Training, will be considered for apprenticeship opportunities
Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
