Summary of the role:
As a Junior QA Engineer, you will support the quality and reliability of our solutions for the airline industry. You'll learn from experienced engineers, execute test cases, and contribute to delivering products that impact millions of travelers worldwide
* Develop technical and functional knowledge in quality assurance and understand how it relates to the Amadeus business.
* Work using established procedures and guidelines, providing input to support team decisions.
* Make recommendations for improvements by analyzing information from different sources.
* Work with guidance and support from your manager and senior team members.
Specific Accountabilities
* Participate in specification and architecture reviews, providing feedback and raising questions.
* Help define test plans and test cases (functional and non-functional), ensuring traceability with specifications and requirements.
* Support compliance with CI/CD guidelines, Green IT, and quality standards (e.g., ISTQB).
* Test Expertise
* Design and execute manual and automated test cases.
* Prepare test environments and test data.
* Document and report bugs and help verify fixes.
* Continuously review and update test cases as new features are delivered.
* Test Automation
* Learn to use test automation frameworks and contribute to test script development.
* Defect Management
* Open and track defects, assign severity, and provide clear information for resolution.
* Help verify defect fixes and support release decisions.
* Reporting
* Communicate test activities and results to the team and stakeholders.
* Provide visibility on testing progress and milestones.
* Support & Knowledge Sharing
* Learn from and support peers and senior QA engineers.
* Share knowledge and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
* Quality Assurance Ambassador
* Demonstrate accountability for the quality of your work.
* Promote quality assurance best practices within your team.
* Continuous Improvement
* Suggest ideas to improve quality processes and tools.
* Participate in efforts to measure and reduce the environmental impact of QA activities.
In this role you'll:
* Execute manual and automated test cases for web and mobile applications.
* Document and report bugs using tracking systems (e.g., Jira).
* Participate in daily stand-ups and sprint planning meetings.
* Create and maintain test documentation and test cases.
* Perform regression, functional, and integration testing for new feature releases.
* Collaborate with developers to reproduce and verify bug fixes.
* Support user acceptance testing (UAT) activities.
* Assist in developing automated test scripts for routine testing.
* Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by suggesting enhancements to testing processes and tools.
About the ideal candidate:
* Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
* 0-2 years of experience in software testing or quality assurance (internships or academic projects count).
* Familiarity with software testing methodologies and practices.
* Basic understanding of programming concepts and languages (e.g., Java, Python, or similar).
* Knowledge of bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail).
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Eagerness to learn and adapt quickly to new technologies.
