Your Role

* Contribute to the development of next-generation lens designs for ZEISS ophthalmic lenses
* Develop and assess optical concepts for spectacle lenses with a focus on visual performance, product relevance, and customer benefit
* Collaborate with research teams to translate scientific findings into design concepts and appropriate laboratory validation approaches
* Support wearer trials and contribute to the interpretation and communication of study results
* Support claim generation and substantiation in alignment with product management requirements and product positioning
* Accompany product development activities through key phases up to market introduction especially for the XRX business segment
* Represent the ZEISS Vision Care Lens Design team in selected external expert settings, including trade fairs and scientific conferences

Your Profile

* University degree in physics, optics, optometry, ophthalmic optics, vision science, engineering, or a comparable scientific discipline. PhD is appreciated
* Initial experience or strong interest in optical design, visual optics, spectacle lens design, ophthalmic products, or applied vision science
* Ability to analyze complex scientific and technical topics and translate them into practical, product-oriented solutions
* Strong motivation to work in an interdisciplinary environment across research, product management, development, and testing functions
* Structured, proactive, and solution-oriented working style
* Confident communication skills in English; German language skills are an advantage
* Interest in communicating technical topics in internal and external expert forums
