The Directorate Digital Euro is creating a reserve list for the future appointment of Market Infrastructure Project Management Specialists, should positions become available.
You will be part of the Directorate Digital Euro in the Directorate General Market Infrastructure and Payments. Our Directorate leads the digital euro project and is responsible for designing a digital euro that meets the needs of euro area citizens, complements cash and supports Europe's monetary sovereignty in the digital age. Following the successful completion of the preparation phase, the project is now focused on advancing technical readiness, deepening market engagement and supporting the legislative process. Visit our website for more information on the digital euro project.
In your role as Market Infrastructure Project Management Specialist, you will contribute to designing a digital euro that supports innovation and makes payments easier and more secure for all. Your specific responsibilities will depend on business needs and the role for which you are selected from the reserve list.
The ECB is an inclusive employer and we strive to reflect the diversity of the population we serve. We encourage you to apply irrespective of age, disability, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, race, religious beliefs, sexual orientation or other characteristics.
Your role
As Market Infrastructure Project Management Specialist, you will:
* contribute to the design, development and implementation of the digital euro and its value proposition;
* carry out policy research and prepare reports, recommendations and presentations to support decision-making processes and ensure compliance with relevant legal frameworks;
* liaise with market participants, including payment service providers, merchants and consumers;
* prepare and operationalise technical documentation, including functional specifications, rulebook provisions, testing strategies and operational procedures;
* support preparations for the digital euro pilot and any potential future launch and rollout activities;
* support the digital euro governance bodies in steering and monitoring the project.
For these roles we are seeking candidates who demonstrate the potential for growth, and we will support the selected candidates in their development of the required skills.
We actively support professional development for our staff. Besides learning opportunities such as training and mentoring, we encourage and support horizontal mobility after some years in the same position.
This position offers you excellent opportunities to contribute to the future of European payments and help ensure that people across the euro area continue to have secure and convenient ways to pay, both in cash and digitally. You will be part of a multicultural team that strives for continuous innovation to make a positive impact on the lives of European citizens.

Essential:

* experience in one or more of the following areas: (i) product design and/or rollout, (ii) policy and strategy development, (iii) planning and coordinating payment or financial infrastructure projects involving multiple stakeholders, (iv) defining technical product requirements and/or specifications, (v) product acceptance testing and operational activities;
* proven experience in drafting clear, concise reports or briefing notes and presenting complex topics to high-level and diverse audiences;
* an advanced (C1) command of English and an intermediate (B1) command of at least one other official language of the EU, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Desired:
* knowledge of the European payments landscape;

You engage collaboratively with others. You pursue team goals and learn willingly from other people's diverse perspectives. You signal any need for change by explaining it and proposing alternative solutions. You analyse complex information effectively and can evaluate different views to arrive at solutions. You know and anticipate stakeholder needs.
You are motivated to contribute to the ECB's mission, to serve the citizens of the EU as a member of a public institution and to work with colleagues from all over Europe.
You are motivated to be part of our team and to develop and use your skills and competencies to achieve the aims of this position.
