What will you do?
As a Electrical DTO Quotation - Electrical Designer, you will play a critical role in bridging communication between the Sales Engineer Team and the MV-US Engineering team during the Quotation of Medium Voltage Switchgear.
* Risk Management: Identify potential design-related risks, and implement corrective and preventive actions to minimize defects in engineering and drafting deliverables.
* Requirements Review: Identify and define preliminary scope of work for a complete solution that fits the Customer specifications..
* Design Leadership: Guide and provide direction to a team of mechanical designers, translating your concepts into accurate 3D models.
* Engineering Ownership: Lead the electrical design experience during quotation, approval, detailed engineering, and post-project analysis phases.
* Continuous Improvement: Drive updates and enhancements to the templates, ensuring defect-free designs that prioritize functionality, safety, and manufacturability.
* Employee Development: Foster a culture of learning, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement with a focus on team skills development.
* Collaborate with Engineers within the Business Unit to generate technical solutions for the Siemens suite of products.
What will you need to succeed?
* Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
* Minimum 2 years of experience in a technical engineering role.
Technical Skills:
* Demonstrated expertise in Engineering Base CAD software
* Demonstrated expertise in AutoCAD.
* Experience working with SAP or similar MRP/ERP systems.
* Strong understanding of complex Bills of Materials (BOMs)
* Basic financial knowledge to understand and participate in ongoing business planning and support the product as well as project lifecycle management processes.
* Ability to analyze customer's technical specifications & single line diagrams, apply appropriate product offerings to meet the customers' expectations in cost-effective and timely manner, offer alternative solutions to optimize profitability while meeting customer needs.
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required):
* Familiarity with ANSI, IEEE, UL, and NEMA standards for medium-voltage switchgear.
* Experience in electrical design for medium voltage equipment.
* Experience in the design and application of electrical distribution products with a focus on medium voltage metal clad, metal enclosed switchgear products and/or Transformers.
* Knowledge and experience evaluating Single line drawings, schematics, relay protection & control schemes, communication network diagrams and related engineering documents.
