Corporate Security sits within the Legal function. Its mission is to protect Diageo's people, assets, reputation and future development through setting policies and standards and monitoring their implementation, by providing decision makers with expert guidance and services
Financial:
In a high Security risk market such as Mexico, the role shall operate with the appropriate security measures within the AOP by monitoring and handling security and budget appropriately.
Market Complexity:
A deep deterioration of security situation in Mexico, could affect our people, logistic operations, product availability and the business performance in the country and globally.
Leadership Responsibilities:
· Provide strategic business partnering support to enable proactive, fit-for-purpose security and BCP risk management. Deliver excellent execution and results-focused solutions. Lead and mitigate security and business continuity risks while driving coordinated performance to protect and maintain reputation.
· High level of independent work and initiative required for performance of role.
· Role model the Diageo leadership capabilities, mentor, and motivate the team, build interdependence with the rest of the organization.
· Continuous communication and support to key stakeholders in the business.
· Ensure excellent performance on compliance matters, including management of BCP, training and coaching.
· Security trusted advisor for Commercial business.
Purpose of Role:
*To develop and implement security policies and practices to protect people, visitors, assets, reputation, and all IMC/Commercial operations.
* Having a comprehensive understanding of Diageo Mexico business and the risks it faces and providing appropriate advice.
* Creating and driving proactive security programs, with stakeholders to ensure the continued safe and effective operations of IMC Mexico.
* Contributing to the global response to crises and significant events.
* Establishing and maintaining close liaison with relevant law enforcement and government officials.
* Delivering security training and awareness for employees and providing professional security advice and consultation to IMC Mexico Management.
* Participate and Coordinate crisis incidents impacting the commercial and/or logistics part of the business.
* Ensure technical security systems on all sites provide the optimum level of cost-effective security by maintaining up to date knowledge of available systems and recommending changes as appropriate.
* Maintain up to date knowledge of threat assessments to property, assets and personnel and develop the appropriate mitigation plans.
Ensure all Security managers supporting the IMC operations are given authoritative security advice appropriate to their areas of work.
* Review all existing security practices for equipment and contracts to ensure effectiveness.
* Conduct/manage investigations into suspected criminal matters where requested, and liaise with relevant law enforcement agencies, where appropriate.
* Acting as Business Partner of IMC business, by giving an optimal and timely support, understanding the priorities of each internal customer.
* Acting as Case Manager, in order that all breaches where legal is involved are handled on time, and on a fairly basis, building a culture of discipline.
* Identify and evaluate security risks throughout Diageo's Supply chain and implement a cost-effective and brand-enhancing security management strategies/solutions to avoid, mitigate and reduce the potential impact of risk to the business.
* Perform all work in accordance with all established regulatory and compliance safety & security requirements.
* Primary liaison between Product Security and key Diageo functions throughout the Mexico Demand Chain.
* Remain current with security industry practices (including C-TPAT, OEA, etc), trends and technologies. Identify innovative supply chain security trends and technologies that could be applied to protect and enhance supply chain security operations.
* Maintain a network of knowledgeable and influential persons in government, law enforcement, security, intelligence, and internal functions to serve as resources, collaborators and partners.
Experience / skills required:
* Prior experience in law enforcement, military, government security/intelligence or corporate security is required.
* Good understanding of general security including threat and developing risk.
* In-depth knowledge of security issues almost certainly acquired from several years' experience in a law enforcement agency or security industry. Knowledge of interaction between company and law enforcement agencies in kidnap/extortion and crisis management cases.
* Awareness and capabilities to negotiate terms and structure of security contracts.
* Analysis, conducting site surveys, crisis management and executive protection.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Good written (English) skills to prepare documentation for corporate leadership or governmental agencies.
* Ability to stay focused by constantly reassessing priorities and handling expectations within the business.
* Flexible attitude to travel. The need to be fully mobile and available on a 24-hour on-call basis, to respond to crisis situations.
* Personal drive and pro-activeness.
* Strong interpersonal skills (Diageo works though knowing the right people, not through operating processes).
* Ability to constantly reprioritize and manage expectations from a large and demanding business.
* Ability to act confidentially and discreetly.
